No lie, Jody Allen reincorporating the Seahawks into a publicly owned nonprofit, like the Green Bay Packers, would be such a baller move. I'm pretty sure she would still do just fine, and what a legacy that would set in stone for the entire Allen family.

A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.

You know, we can scream and yell all we want about the release of the Epstein files, but it’s not going to happen. Why because the DOJ controls the enforcement of laws, and there is no one there who could arrest anyone in that department. We live in an authoritarian state.

The Shadow magazine, cover dated January 15, 1933. Art by George Rozen.
The cover shows a skeleton coming out from between two green drapes. On each side of the open drapes is the shadow of the Shadow. It says "The Creeping Death

I'd just like to point out how weird it is that places with hundreds or even thousands of reporters — the NYT, WaPo, CBS, NBC, AP, etc. — are all getting pummeled on every major story by the dozen computerboys at Wired. To fumble the bag this consistently is, at some point, cowardice and a choice.

I still can't get past the idea that people in America are now supposed to accept that this is a valid form of law enforcement and just assume it's fine when random dudes in groups with face-coverings, no ID, no warrant, & no uniform grab people off the street and force them into unmarked vehicles

Cancel culture isn't new; we've always had it. We literally write essays about it in high school for the Scarlet fucking Letter. What changed recently is who we cancel - we no longer cancel you for for being queer, using drugs, divorcing & remarrying, but for being abusive, hateful, or a sex pest.
The Times headline: CANCEL CULTURE IS OVER AND WE'RE FREE AGAIN, SAYS COMIC BOOK WRITER.

Mark Millar, who sold his Miallarworld empire to Nextflix in 2017, said he was looking forward to 'crazy' stories on screen and in print once more.

Mark Millar dismissed cancel culture as a "youth trend"

Inlcudes a picture of Mark leaning against a pole, ironically to his right.

I can hear this cover in my head. The moment when an entire arena is brought nearly silent only for a few precious seconds before the cacophony rises again to meet the action. Art by Daniel Warren Johnson, a cover for his Do A Powerbomb! serialized OGN.
Back towards us, Cobrasun, a masked Luchador-style wrestler, jumps spread-eagle high in the air off the top of a sporting ring turnbuckle towards his opponent, Lona Steelrose, a junior wrestler standing at ground level, her back against the crowd already having been pushed past the corner of the perimeter fencing around the ring.

The pretext is that these tariffs are the result of a complex international commerce dispute, but the actual text is just a Chat GPT spouted formula that's never been applied to tariffs - ever, but the subtext is that it's really just a worldwide extortion scheme.

There is a very distinct theme at work here in the legisative actions of conservatives: blind ideology running headfirst into the brick wall of reality. Over and over. This, "DOGE", every other policy and legislative priority of the right: intentional and completely unnecessary harm to the public.

I feel so sorry for anyone whose quality of life relies on government programs and services functioning properly. If you depend on SSI, Medicare, Medicaid, or the VA you'd better be planning ahead right now. Hell, I'm nervous about where the USPS will be in 4 years.

A lot of people are going to find out the hard way how critical all these governmental services they were largely unaware of really are. This isn't just going to affect imagined gov't "bloat", but every measure these agencies took to ensure baseline safety and stability are going out the window.

It's annoying how clearly this is going to play out. They gut the FAA. Therefore, the FAA can't do its job well because it was gutted. Therefore, they say "The FAA sucks, we have to privatize it." which is what Project 2025 wants to do. They're manufacturing the crises for their end goal.

One of my all-time favorite films by the Coen Bros. Newly acquired on physical media, because streaming and digital options - while temporarily convenient - are subject to all sorts of legalities and aren't long term options. New motto is: If its worth having, it's worth having a copy you can hold.

If Kash Patel is confirmed to run the FBI there will be no backing away from the abyss. Trump wants his Brownshirts out there doing his dirty work knowing they'll never face any consequences for it. Removing the FBI from the equation gets that reality much closer.

SCOTUS gave Trump a green light to act as illegally as he pleases. The career criminal has nothing but open contempt for courts and Rule of Law in general. I'm almost waiting for the news that he sanctioned the assassination of a U.S. citizen on U.S. soil next.
