I just switched my electric service to Time Of Use rates, so I can charge my EV from nearly empty to nearly full overnight for about $8. Such a shame (travesty!) Trump has done so much to hinder growth of EV market in the U.S.

Trump, empowered by SCOTUS, entered office convinced he could do insider trading, sell pardons and favors, take bribes, steal and openly flout the law. Now, with the prospect of investigations looming, he is growing ever more fearful that he miscalculated.

I'm growing fewer peppers this year—and fewer varieties, too—but still enough to dry and grind into 3½ small jars of mixed hot peppers. Should still be more later this fall. Blend of ghost (Bhut jolokia), diablo rojo, red Fresno, and jalapeño peppers.

Another excellent take from Paul Krugman: paulkrugman.substack.com/p/der-unterg...
Because always you want to bear in mind that Trump hates America. He hates the values on which America was built. He hates democracy. He hates rule of law. He hates all of the things that are what we’re supposed to be about as a nation.

But increasingly it looks as if he just plain hates this country because it doesn’t love him. How much damage will he do? How much damage can he do? I don’t want to make a specific prediction, but I’m worried.

And don’t say that he won’t do that or he can’t do that. Those have been famous last words again and again over the past decade. So this is going to be even worse, even uglier, I think than most people imagine.

Finally finished @philipcball.bsky.social's wonderful "How Life Works"! When I hit the part on the 2nd Law felt compelled to share my comic on Entropy from a few years back, bits of which I'm expanding on in the new work (& one reason I read this brilliant book!) spinweaveandcut.com/sketching-en...
a single page comic about entropy - how everything tends towards disorder, and those brief moments when things go against that downward flow - specifically life. Opens with linear rod of small rectangular panels on how things get more disordered.

The rest of the page has a much less regimented structure. In the background is a river in black that flows from upper left to lower right end of page. Over it is a spiraling panel structure that has the primary narrative. This begins with a trio of narrow rectangular small vertical panels arranged in descending order. Within them a sequence where a ball falls down stairs. A white arrow stems from the panels and points into the Y of the word yet In large black letters. This moves reading flow across the page to the right side where there are three mirroring vertical panels to the left side except these are arranged in ascending order left to right. Inside them are images of swirls - perhaps a cyclone viewed from space. And then, on the right edge, the panels align with the arm of a spiral of panels. And now we see a sequence depicting swirl of gases to birth of a star, a diagram of new elements forged in its core to star and planet (earth) orbiting. Then swirls of clouds on earth, lightning, rain, water, volcanoes and spiraling to the center: circular panel with caption “swirls keep forming”. Now spiral path reverses from the center to show organic molecules, then dna. Outside the panel path a maple “helicopter” spirals into the panels, to sprout and grow into a tree

This second spiral arm comes out of the center and returns to standard reading order. A river has flowed behind the whole page and in the last panel, a person is seen putting a finger in creating swirls in the water - as life and stars are swirls drawing from entropy's downward stream...

Come on, @cnbc.com, you really need to learn how this works! Trump isn't surprised by the stock market comeback! If you need to say it, write "Trump claims he's surprised by stock market comeback." He lies with almost *every* sentence, so don't treat his utterances as truth claims to be reported.
Headlines on CNBC.com: "Trump tells CNBC he expects US to make 'great deal' with Iran" and "Trump surprised bys tock market comeback amid Iran conflict, thought dow would be down 20%"
