I was looking through the few old school books I still have from my childhood and found this classic example of autistic literalism. The question was “what does ‘bail up’ mean?” and I answered exactly that. My teacher’s note - “rob them?” - shows how I missed the point. 1/2

I just saw my first bumblebee of the year, so here’s a fun fact about me: until I moved to England at the age of 29 I had no idea that bumblebees were a separate species to honey bees. We don’t have bumblebees in my part of Western Australia and I had only seen them in children’s books, so… 1/2

In my archaeology days, worked for an enviro firm downstairs from two radio stations. Came back to the office covered in mud after a dig. Got into the lift in the staff car park; on its way up it stopped at the public car park and Australian comedian Frank Woodley got in with his guitar.

Whinge incoming… I have malfunctioning Eustachian tubes after a heavy cold and they are driving me *nuts*. For three days my right ear felt full of water, occasionally popping painfully with a range of internal squeaks. It finally settled down today but now the left one is ticking like a clock. 😭
