We can't even get it bundled with another streaming service the way Canadian Disney+ subscriptions include the Hulu catalogue or Crave subscriptions include HBO. It's cable only. I'm no very smart MBA or CEO squabbling over what licensing deals will do to my bonuses but this just seems kinda stupid?

As a Canadian who loves TCM, the fact that TCM streaming is *still* only available in the US is insane. And it's not just a simple matter of a VPN, you need an American payment method and billing address. The only way to watch it here is through a cable provider middleman.

Cowboys again. This time one of our boys has lost his boots. Standing in a field of long grass the cowboy points towards the ground and shouts back to his colleague, “Lil bone people got muh boots.” This makes no sense to the other cowboy who sits atop his horse away from the action. He responds, “Lil wut?” Sure enough in the foreground we see a squad of little bone people scampering through the grass with the stolen cowboy boots. They’re thrilled. How the bone people got the boots off the cowboy is unclear.

Artist’s note: I tend to draw drawings from the same perspective (straight on) most of the time. This idea came about when I was goofin around trying to draw a character from a lower angle. I like that the story unfolds with the foreground, mid-ground, and background all working together. There’s a draft of this one included in the Spooky Pants book. Coming out next week!

It's telling that men would rather try to invent tech to replace humans' role in caregiving than step up as equal partners in parenting. Telling, that is, in that it shows how financial capitalism and patriarchy work together to dissuade men from doing "unprofitable" labor, like the work of care.

OTD in 2025, I was back home in Montreal enjoying a big bag of favourite local goodies while a squirrel enjoyed a coffee.

I love fall so much. I've lived in Vermont my whole life and foliage season still seems like such a completely bonkers and beautiful thing to happen every year. It never gets old. 🍂
