When we were walking residential streets, I often had difficulty taking enough interesting photos to post. But now that we’re walking #Calgary trails, I’m having trouble choosing which photos to share — just too many great sights captured. #ycc

🏒🇨🇦 Hockey Night in Canada is back! CBC is bringing the iconic broadcast into its 90th season with the PWHL. Eight Saturday night prime-time games begin Dec. 5, giving Canadians free national access to professional women’s hockey. That’s one exciting new chapter for HNIC. ❤️

Happy birthday to Randy Bachman, born on this day in 1943 in Winnipeg! A founding member of The Guess Who, he left the band in 1970 and formed Bachman-Turner Overdrive. With both bands he had #1 hits in the United States. From 2005 to 2021, he hosted Vinyl Tap on CBC. 📸 CNE

It’s the wrong move. Give people the choice and freedom to choose how to get around. Don’t force people into driving. That’s top down petro-state government that we don’t need.

It hadn’t occurred to me that one of the reasons Canadians in general, and Albertans in particular, have come to believe that moving here from abroad is easy, is that all they need to do to move to say, Mexico, for six months is buy a plane ticket. No questions asked.

Elections Alberta shared an announcement today letting people know that they've started sending out the referendum special ballot packages. Also a reminder that some changes to the voting experience were made in 2023. www.elections.ab.ca/resources/me... #Alberta #abpoli
What’s changed since the 2023 Provincial General Election?
Amendments to the Election Act, which came into force July 4, 2025, mean Albertans will notice differences in their voting experience, such as:

Electors voting in person must cast their ballots in the electoral division where they ordinarily reside, as tabulators enabling ‘vote anywhere’ cannot be used.
Electors no longer need a reason to apply for a special ballot.
Special ballots must be returned to Elections Alberta by mail. They cannot be returned or completed in person at local returning offices. Special ballots must be received before 5:00pm on the Friday before Election Day.
Vouching is no longer accepted as a form of identification. However, there are over 50 forms of accepted identification, including attestation forms.
