All the discourse in the world won’t change the fact that Americans of all ages got to see two guys kissing on the ice, on the big screen, and the crowd response was cheering. As someone who lost people in the 90s to AIDS, shame and hate, I can’t put the words together to explain how that feels.

Why is that when anything women like has sexual content it instantly becomes “the horny ——-“ show? Sometimes it’s valid. True Blood was absolutely the “Horny vampires” show and at times it seemed like Skarsgard’s junk was afraid of the dark. But in the case of Heated Rivalry it feels gross.

For my household and family, 2025 was light years worse than 2020. The only redeeming feature of it was that nobody died. One day that may feel miraculous, but in a year where having cancer and undergoing radiation was not the most stressful event, I can only pray for 2026 to be better.

I’m going through Books today. That always comes with a lot of dilemmas involving space, interest, balance of collection, etc. this dilemma at least I could solve thanks to the most brilliant invention: washi tape.

A book. You see a slightly stylized globe, with David Tennant and Michael Sheen sitting on top. They’re in costume as Aziraphale and Crowley. The title, Good Omens is below them. Above the art is a strip of purely decorative washi tape. Above THAT is the name of the one and only author of this work, Terry Pratchett. Yes, I will face this particular piece of recovery with gleeful and willful denial and I think Terry and Granny would approve, PBUT.
