My own opinion is that it's good to signal (through words and/or actions) the virtues that you value; that's one of the most important parts of maintaining a healthy community.

I love how Enid Blyton's books often contain a spoiled rich kid who's viewed with disdain because they have too much money even though all her characters attend boarding school.

Imagine watching disaster movies like The Day After Tomorrow or 2012 and thinking that the apocalyptic weather scenes were the “unrealistic” part. Turns out those scenes were almost bang on. The unrealistic part was the humans working together to overcome the problem & save the world. Sigh.

There’s no reason billionaires should stop paying into Social Security in January while the rest of us contribute all year. It’s time to scrap the cap.
A graphic with a picture of Elon Musk sneering on the left and white text on the right that reads: “If billionaires like Elon Musk paid into Social Security at the same rate as the rest of us on all of their income, we could expand benefits for everyone and pay them in full forever.”

This man and a small group of capitol police officers singlehandedly saved our democracy four years ago. In November, 77 million Americans said "to hell with them" and voted for the insurrectionists. Your "Back the Blue" flags are a pathetic disgrace and your patriotism is bullsh*t.

Some features can be helpful for accessibility e.g. if you can control them from your phone, but it's usually a waste of money and resources. I knew someone who had Spotify on his fridge. Why? You already have a computer, ipad, and phone.

If you ever find yourself saying "No one who works 40 hours a week deserves (to go homeless, to go hungry, etc)" just deleted the "who works 40 hours a week" part. Disabled people don't deserve to go hungry. Children don't deserve to go hungry. Seniors and the elderly do not deserve to go hungry.

They said evidence shows that having one inhaler is more effective. Another good thing about this one is it's better for the environment (although they still continue to make them from single use plastic).

I had my asthma review. She said my inhaler technique was good and she's prescribed montelukast. Hopefully that will help. She also said I may have sleep apnea so I'm going to have to talk to a doctor about being referred for further tests. Hopefully it's not that.

Yeah, I'm on the MART regime, but it doesn't always work. Part of the issue is I don't turn the heating on at night because it feels like a waste of money, but cold air triggers asthma.

Accusations of antisemitism for wearing a keffiyeh conflates cultural identity with hatred & trivializes real antisemitism. It also fuels anti-Arab/Palestinian prejudice. Posts like this undermine efforts to combat antisemitism by diluting its seriousness & fueling confusion of its definition.

Visitors to @MuseumModernArt in New York City were shocked to find a guest services employee wearing a keffiyeh—a symbol widely appropriated to promote violence against Jews.

How does this align with your code of conduct?

Judge Clemon toured the Morgan County jail, which was overcrowded and prisoners kept malnourished. He compared the conditions he found, of mostly black prisoners packed together on the floor, to what one might have seen on a slave ship.
