Fuck ChatGPT flyers. The future is broadsheets.
A crowded broadsheet with way too many fonts. It says:

Say it with
Broadsheets
Unlimited fonts
Stretch them
Or cram a really long sentence into one line for no good reason
No whitespace
Mix capital and lowercase
Pointing hands
(They're called manicules!)
Don't be left behind

Librarians! Zine-Makers! This new Temporary Services zine (made with @doormouse12.bsky.social) is for you! We interviewed 4 public librarians that maintain zine collections and the result is a beautiful 44 page booklet. See and learn how they do it! $10.00 (or $3.00 PDF) from www.halfletterpress.com
From the front and back cover of the booklet:

Public Librarians Discuss Zine Collections

We asked librarians at four public libraries to talk about their library’s zine collection. What advice can they share with zine makers that want to get their work into a public library, or librarians that want to start a collection at their library? Was it hard to convince others that zines are a resource that the library should collect? What collecting models did they follow? How did they build the collection?

Interviewees:

Tim Devin / Somerville Public Library
 (Somerville, MA)
Angi Brzycki & Ziba Pérez /
Los Angeles Public Library
(Los Angeles, CA)
Alicia Tate / Multnomah County Library
(Portland, OR)

Jacob Lawrence, The Library, 1978. Lawrence loved libraries, where he did research for his paintings from early on in his career, most notably at Harlem's Schomburg Center. He made numerous pictures of libraries that celebrate the librarians & library workers who keep them running

The fact that they weaponized a term and practice by a Black scholar— Saidiya Hartman— to justify AI, supposedly to benefit people whose history is currently being erased from archives *using* AI is rich! Work of Haitian historian Michel-Rolph Trouillot is helpful in understanding origin of gaps.

That's what jumped out at me, too. Also, I'm noticing how language created by Black critical theorists is increasingly being coopted for fascistic or shady purposes. Torn about them not citing Hartman directly because cite👏🏾 her 👏🏾, but also this is some foolishness, don't include her in this.
ABSTRACT from https://arxiv.org/abs/2511.07722

LLMs hallucinate, yet some confabulations can have social affordances if carefully bounded. We propose critical confabulation (inspired by critical fabulation from literary and social theory), the use of LLM hallucinations to "fill-in-the-gap" for omissions in archives due to social and political inequality, and reconstruct diver-gent yet evidence-bound narratives for history's "hidden figures". We simulate these gaps with an open-ended narrative cloze task: asking LLMs to generate a masked event in a character-centric timeline sourced from a novel corpus of unpublished texts. We evaluate audited (for data contamination), fully-open mod-els (the OLMO-2 family) and unaudited open-weight and proprietary baselines under a range of prompts designed to elicit controlled and useful hallucinations. Our findings validate LLMs' foundational narrative understanding capabilities to perform critical confabulation, and show how controlled and well-specified hallucinations can support LLM applications for knowledge production without collapsing speculation into a lack of historical accuracy and fidelity.

Moving Beyond Willpower: A New Direction for Media Literacy Instruction by Mandi Goodsett www.inthelibrarywiththeleadpipe.org/2026/moving-...
Academic librarians and others often engage with media literacy instruction by promoting fact-checking strategies, such as lateral reading or Mike Caulfield’s SIFT. Evidence shows that these strategies are valuable and can be effective, but they all ultimately rely on individual students to use willpower to overcome cognitive habits, biases, strong parasocial relationships with content creators, the power of algorithms, and other challenges to fact-checking content in the moment. This paper offers an alternative approach that instead encourages librarians to support students in intentionally redesigning their information environments to improve the quality of information that they encounter in the first place.

Book cover. The top of the image is covered in overlapping black&white and sepia photographs of Black pas from the early to mid 20th century. Below that, against a seafoam green or robin's egg blue (depends on your view I suppose!), the book's title "The House Archives Built & Other Thoughts on Black Archival Possibilities" is printed in black.
