Picked this up yesterday and it really blew me away. It's a really wild and nearly abstract story of a fantasy boat race but near the middle the author pauses to reevaluate. He breaks the 4th wall and talks about what the story is about. Fascinating, surprising and beautiful. by Garresh.

I just learned the Academy of Natural Sciences here in Philly is suddenly shuttering at the end of this month. Financial issues. It’s been open almost two centuries, it’s older than the London natural history museum. It was the first place in a the world people saw an articulated dinosaur skeleton

Sigmund Freud had a chow chow named Jo-Fi Ling who attended all of his therapy sessions because he felt that dogs had a special sense that allows them to judge a persons character accurately, and admitted he depended on Jo-Fi for an assessment of a patient’s mental state

Freud often talked through Jofi. Dr. Grinker wrote that if she scratched to be let out, Freud would say “Jofi doesn’t approve of what you’re saying” And if she wanted back in, he’d say “Jofi has decided to give you another chance.”
