The way the show expands & develops its characters only enhances the pain of what goes down on prom night. As for the major change that happens during prom… I see the vision but need more of the story to see if it sticks the landing. Because yeah this is NOT a standalone season of TV. It’s season 1.

My advice for those who have not yet watched this new Carrie: Have an open mind. There are a lot of changes to this version that are similar to the adaptation choices Flanagan and co did with Jackson/James/Poe in their other shows, so it is initially jarring to see them do this with King.

Been processing the season finale for a bit, along with various reactions I’ve seen. Bummed to see some folks being mean for the sake of it. I understand why the changes made in this adaptation do not work for some. Where I’ve landed is that what was changed feels right for This Version of Carrie.

I did not remember to bring up that, in the event of a bear attack, your best chance of survival is to fall back with a spear so that the bear is impaled by its own weight and is unable to get up. Incidentally, that is how the psycho driller dies in the movie, who is not a bear. Just saying...

Just finished episode 1 of Carrie and yeah I was skeptical but I am so in for this take. The fuse that this establishes which will eventually get us to the prom, the lead performances, the shockingly on-point school shooting discussions, a very fun surprise cast member... I love all of it so far!

Just a reminder that people don’t always realize they were raped in the immediate aftermath. It can take hours, days, months, and even years to realize you were raped, and it doesn’t make it any less true. There are many kinds of responses, including fawning and trying to appease your rapist
