No joke. I think this is the most important video I have ever seen about mobile games. This guy breaks down how this game psychologically profiles you, and makes the game harder or easier in order to show you ads

Suffice to say, my cats really like their "new" cat tree. Mind you, these cats generally do not like each other. "new" because I actually bought this over a decade ago and moved it from the US to Norway to Denmark. We finally built it Saturday. #cats

A view of a beige cat tree. There are two cats sleeping on it - a grey tabby sleeping at roughly the eye-line level inside of a shelter in the tree and an orange tabby sleeping at the very top.

I feel like there's a cohort of us who got on the internet before "social media" and made all sorts of healthy friendships through forums or livejournal or what have you and thus, while everyone's like SOCIAL MEDIA FUELS COMPARISON AND MISERY we're like, but that's just where my friends live.

RIP, HP EX950 2 TB SSD. You were great for holding my Steam library, but apparently seven months after your warranty expiration was too much. :( Luckily I didn't *need* the SSD given how expensive things are today, but it still hurts.

A short thread on "Rogue AI." About 5 yrs ago, just before "gen AI" hit the public didcourse, i wrote "I’m Not Afraid of AI Overlords— I’m Afraid of Whoever’s Training Them To Think That Way." It's mostly about how corporations seek to offload culpability for the harms of systemic prejudicial bias…

I remember a few of us going to guard the dorm rooms of muslim students because not only was the student body dumping heaps of islamophobia everywhere, but so were a healthy chunk of the faculty. It was my first exposure to this type of thing and holy crap did it open up my eyes.

I recently went on a research dive on this and... it is because Europe is secretly using inches. Paris inches, to be precise, which are slightly bigger than US/UK inches. Paris points are 2/3rds of a centimeter... and a quarter (Paris) inch. US and UK shoes use barleycorns. Everyone is dumb here.

Tonight I watched my blind cat stalk, catch and eat a flying insect. I did not get a good look at it. Could have been a moth or a beetle. Rusty orange in color. Not really any significant source of food but she seemed to enjoy it.

I'm just saying: if you described this room to your D&D party, you could throw out whatever other encounters you had planned for the session. They're spending all night investigating Area 27.) Pink Brick Square Floor Hole in Wall with Panel.

A basement room with blue walls. In the middle of the wall is a large brick wall painted pink. To one side the brick has a round hole in it filled with brown insulation. In front of the wall is a square area in the carpet that is tan brick. To the left of the pink brick section is a blue panel which sticks out from the wall. The place most likely had a fireplace in it at one time but now there's just enough emptiness that the whole thing looks vaguely ominous.

The Theseus Detective Agency is slated to open on July 6th! Detective Eelicia Skechkop's yacht, The Theseus, will house an oddball crew of detectives-in-training. The ship is docked in Fogport near some container yards and is unlikely to set sail anytime soon, as it is in dire need of repairs. #DND
