Medical tech hasn’t solved that I have to write a letter to fax to a pharmacy to discontinue a patient’s medication instead of being able to send an electronic discontinue order. So maybe we could work on stuff like that before deciding that AI is the next big thing in medicine.

ICYMI: new MMWR has been published, showing that this year’s flu vaccine is decent at keeping people from needing to see the doctor… and pretty darn good at preventing kids’ (& to a lesser extent, adults’) flu hospitalization Also: it’s safe. And it’s not too late to get it.

Imagine if the committee still met and shared their updated flu vax recommendations with us, the people, to spread the word and push for what’s needed. By canceling these meetings, they’re intentionally keeping crucial science from us, science that could help prevent illness and death.
