This is a false dichotomy. Every gallon of drinking water used to cool a data center is a gallon taken from a community that relies on it. Water is already scarce in so many parts of the country, which means that any added demand is an actual stress on the water supply.

And as if right on cue, I just saw an IG post about SIQA’s most recent report on “AI-generated” music. The most common genre being misappropriated is…R & B. And the most common “AI” personas are…women vocalists. Which an attempt to erase actual human Black women singers.
