FWIW, I have precisely zero sympathy for Man City fans and even less for their players. From the moment the Der Spiegel leaks hit the news, everyone knew what they were up to. People actively chose to turn a blind eye because they were winning stuff. Now the chickens have come home to roost.

I wonder whether the “impartiality” of the referees who were paid by Man City’s owners to referee games in the UAE might be looked at again in light of what we now know. Or does English exceptionalism continue to mean that City were dodgy in every other respect, but refs are DEFINITELY clean?

Just listened to Bazz Luhrmann’s Wear Sunscreen properly for the first time in who knows how long. As a recently turned 44-year-old, it hits really fucking hard knowing it came out when I was exactly the right age, but I ignored basically all of the advice. The one I regret the most is “stretch.”

Been in a gorgeous hotel in Rhodes for the best part of a week. The only shame is they have been playing what is clearly an AI album of songs on repeat the entire time. Sometimes just the same song over and over again. Even when not, it _sounds_ like the same song. Nightmarish.
