Jeffries recently hinted that he's open to ending taxpayer funded military assistance to Israel even though he, for whatever reason, voted to maintain it. More broadly he is facing a caucus that's going to have at least 5 separate bills proposed by 2027 to actively punish Israel to varying degrees.

The longtime pro-Israel Democrat said that U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East "must change" after a divisive vote over aid to Israel fractured his caucus this summer. Here's Backpack as a yearling in 2007, unable to put weight on the injured paw. Holly took her cub & moved upriver, away from aggressive bears who might harm him at Brooks Falls. Fishing was harder for the pair, and she risked both of them struggling or starving, but he was SAFE.

Backpack in 2007, nursing an injured paw that is turned under, so that he can't put any weight on it. If you're wondering why they didn't provide vet care, it's their policy not to interfere when an injury is natural and not caused by human activity.

Omigod, this is the most heartwarming story possible! Backpack (bear 89) is the son of the 2019 winner of Fat Bear Week, Holly (bear 435). In 2007, he injured his foot & a practice of riding on momma's Holly's back had a new meaning: he was mobility-restricted while it healed. So Holly moved him.

From DISCVR blog's Facebook page, a momma bear & a yearling cub on her back in the shallow water. I think the background has been swapped out, and I can't rule out some AI use there? God, Facebook has become the social media for AI slop : (

Set aside the security issues. Would putting a govt product like a passport in a nice box make people feel better about public services? This seems like a testable claim. But the bigger point is the govt mostly does not deliver physical products. The digital plumbing of online services matters more.

Wrote about the National Design Studio a while back, and two things worth noting. *It is led by a white nationalist *They do skins, not services. America.gov is a chatbot with a .gov skin. They are promising to make services work better but its all TBD.

Skins vs. services: the National Design Studio is building a handful of attractive single page websites, but not fixing digital services that most of the public relies on when they interact with government. Skins is easy to do, but not very impactful.
