here’s one that’s been bothering me, I can’t believe it’s real I Google a person I see a blurb of their Wikipedia page I click the word “Wikipedia” which appears to be a link IT EXPANDS AN AI SUMMARY OF THE WIKIPEDIA PAGE A new, separate link to the Wikipedia page pops up and I have to click that

Aha! But you admit you had to click more than would have been the case otherwise. Check and mate 😏

soon when you google something it will take like 3 or 4 clicks to actually get to what you googled and get OFF of google

Good news is this seems to be just mobile and doesn’t happen for every person I google

They keep doing something similar for Reddit. Googs, you're lucky I'm using your search engine to search reddit. Keep this up and the middle man is gone.

Stop using Google. Duck duck go has the same feature but you can turn it off. Feels like Google circa 2017

And the half the AI summary is refuted by the Wikipedia link! I looked up Trent baalle this morning and the summary said he was a coach!

I suggest you try using kagi.com and see if you like it. I never use Google anymore except for Google Maps

I’ve switched to Duck Duck Go, it doesn’t do that.

I had someone recommend downloading the wikipedia app and using that for searches instead, and it's been a game-changer. It's well-designed and easy to search/find in article, and no having to sort through google ai slop. Perfect for when I have a specific thing I want info on or read about

Yeah this fucking sucks. Google is very close to making me look for a replacement.
