The UK is an island nation on its own in an increasingly precarious world. Leaving the EU was a catastrophe, and to not at least debate returning to the collective security of the EU strikes me as either foolhardy or premeditated. Either way, it is not in the interests of the majority.🧐

I don't want to reopen the debate. There is nothing to debate, it was a shit idea 10 years ago and nothing has happened in that time to change that fact. The debate is done. We now need to make the necessary changes to the country to be ready to apply to rejoin before the end of the decade.

Brexit still divides the country but the two sides are no longer nearly equal – those who see the continuing harm of Brexit increasingly outnumber the diehard believers. So the 'debate' will grow, not diminish, and in the end the majority will have to be listened to. Better sooner than later.

Some of these Labour MPs need to wake up and smell the coffee. And, while I'm at it, most of the public ; a) are appalled at how they kicked out the assisted dying bill, b) recognise there are welfare reform abusers, and welfare reforms are needed, c) know the court system needs serious speeding up.
