RNHurt @kangaroobox.com · 28/11/2025Could you use this to replicate/replace #keybase.io and make it easy to share your public key(s)? This would super handy and matches well with identity confirmation. Keybase was great, right up until they veered off into trying to be a Dropbox clone, which no one want's or needs. 030
Mike Sux 🍁 @distraction.engineer · 28/11/2025I *really* want to support this idea, but BlueSky has made a few too many questionable bans of people from marginalized communities (while giving a pass to such atrocities as a government run account that regularly makes death threats). 😞 020
Juan Luis @juanlu.space · 28/11/2025Surprised that nobody mentioned how similar this is to IndieAuth and Web sign-in. It's like ATProto is making the #IndieWeb ideas actually usable (which I love). Which also reminded me of the division during the creation of apub, 8 years ago dustycloud.org/blog/on-stan...dustycloud.orgOn standards divisions and collaboration (or: Why can't the decentralized social web people just get along?) -- Dustycloud Brainstorms 050

JustHere4Coffee @justhere4coffee.bsky.social · 28/11/2025I have enough issues with people thinking one of my emails is theirs because they add it to their gmail as a backup; I don't need them all trying to claim it for logging in everywhere as well! 000
dad (aka miguel) @aka.dad · 28/11/2025I agree domains are the way, but (devils advocate) they also suffer from having to rush and register names up quickly if you want something specific or common. That’s specific problem is even worse with domains because of the profit made from after market domains. 110

Ruben Martinez Jr. @ruben.codes · 27/11/2025As a developer, are there good libraries or APIs one can integrate for verifying proof of domain ownership? Feels like there would be incentive for making this dead simple. 370
Boris @bmann.ca · 27/11/2025This is great, Dan. I think we definitely need some branding and design with other elements, but this is a really great start. Was talking to @borisanthony.net about related ideas last week. Also @schlage.town this would be good as "resources" link for the manifesto. 0110
