As a general rule, regardless of the topic, the media is at least 50% of any problem. taxjustice.net/press/millio...

Millionaire exodus numbers “fabricated” warns forensic analysis; Tax Justice Network comments - Tax Justice Network

This simply confirms our thorough debunking of these scare stories, and shows how far the opponents of fair wealth taxes are willing to go.

We all knew the story about the flight of millionaires was rubbish. You don’t leave the frat house when you’re a member of the elite!

Of course it’s nonsense that the millionaires are fleeing.

At the mere extreme outside chance of a wealth tax in Switzerland, we've already gotten the same line of "Wealthy prepare to decamp for gold-plated Gulf shithole powered by slavery." Because life would just be so awful for a rich person in Switzerland then.

well... if they don't pay taxes thus don't contribute anything to society so why even bother? GTFO and there will be non difference for the genral society?

Denmark has a high tax bracket, and people stay because of how that money creates a socially responsible society. Companies have their HQ here because working in Denmark is a pull-effect. Denmark has a good brand. UK after Brexit has lost its luster. That's why people leave.

The media and the lobbyists paying for access make for a deeply toxic cycle where nothing gets done because politicians fear media backlash, but so much of the media isn't news, it's paid for opinion pieces. Appreciate your candor on this George.

The idea of millionaires or billionaires leaving with bags of gold in the suitcases, has always been the dumbest thing ever. Are we supposed to believe that they leave london, and all their online investments fly with them abroad!

Taxing carbon, toxics, plastics also part of achieving tax justice. Fuel duty has not risen for over a decade while Europe burns.

The media in this country are disgrace to the very idea of journalism. And as for holding the powerful to account - that's way beyond their pay grade. Servile lickspittke lackeys is a far better description of journalists in the UK.

I enjoyed telling Rees Mogg on GBNews a couple of weeks ago that the Henley reports were both bogus and irrelevant. But our media kept on reporting the myth.

This myth was debunked quite some time back. Why don't serious journalists and politicians treat this lazy lie with the contempt it deserves, so that it lessens the reputation of every right-wing stooge that repeats it?

Half the media outlets aren’t even media anymore. They exist to serve at the behest of some millionaire or billionaire with largely bigoted and outdated views.

We are taught that mainstream media is impartial and accurately reports events. Obviously, total bollocks. But everyone believes that their preferred media source is the one to be trusted, which is equally codswallop. If the media isn't there to report accurately, it's only purpose is to manipulate.

What's telling is this governments willingness to accept and use as legit factual research, work that is biased, corporate funded self serving lying drivel, to the extent they quote it in msm as the reasons they can't afford to implement a policy. It once again highlights exactly who they work for.

According to msm if Starbucks paid fair taxes they would leave the uk and British people would then have to stop drinking coffee, because only starbucks can make coffee. Rinse and repeat for every other corporation.
