The Assisted Dying Bill was flawed legislation whilst the U.K. does not have the safety net - from palliative to social care - to ensure a free choice to die. But I take no pleasure in the defeat. People suffering in pain and fear wanted control over their deaths. There are no winners here.

There's a real risk of ai bros wrecking large parts of our internet based infrastructure in ways that will take years to fix. If they do they should be treated like anyone else hacking or making viruses. But they can't do more than that unless we let them. Chatbots won't magically build terminators.

Just had to pay £80 for a dentist to poke around my mouth for literally 2 minutes, a couple quick x-rays, and tell me everything's basically fine. But I'll have to pay a further £110 if I want them to give my teeth a proper clean, scale, polish, under the gum-line etc. Can we get NHS dentistry back?

If police can't mobilise enough officers to safely arrest x number of one group breaking anti-protest laws for fear it will escalate into a riot, then they shouldn't enforce those laws against similar numbers of peaceful protesters. Otherwise they create an incentive for aggressive protests.

#JustStopOil ended their 3 year protest campaign after their reasonable demand for the UK Government to stop licensing new oil, gas & coal projects, became government policy. Any further disruption caused by activists is a direct consequence of Burnham rowing back on Labour's climate commitments.

In principle I support the right to assisted dying, but the bill as it stands would create a eugenicist system killing disabled people. The right to assisted dying must not be brought in without guaranteeing the necessary provision and support for those who want to live.

The end of this summer is strangely like a second spring with new plants & flowers shooting up and blooming after dying back, being in survival mode, through the droughts. At the same time there's scents of an early autumn as so much plant matter that had died off is now decomposing with the rains.

I could accept Burnham "not rushing to judgement" if he'd already launched a public inquiry into racist harassment by the media and what can be done about it. In the absence of a process to come to some judgment, "not rushing" is simply doing nothing.

We're in a drought. All the grass is dead and brown, soil is cracked and dry, everything is wilting, wildlife is struggling. My MP has launched a website so that residents can complain to the council to have the few plants & wildflowers still surviving in the city removed as "unsightly weeds". 😓
