Race Bannon @racebannon.bsky.social · 23/09/2026I love my local neighborhood coffee shops. My coffee was cold because I was drinking slowly and when I asked if they would microwave it for a few seconds they refused and said they would prefer to make me a new one which they did. This is why I love local and not chain coffee shops. 34106042
Jane Doe @yknot05.bsky.social · 24/09/2026Great. Candidly, this did not end as I had suspected. Good story for a day when we need more stories about good humans. Thanks for the post. 000
Ian Andrews @ianbof.bsky.social · 23/09/2026We were in Florence last week and up so early, the only place we could find open was a Starbucks (I know!). We ordered a black americano and a latte. Both were left after a single sip... possibly the worst coffee I have ever had... in a country that probably makes the worlds best coffee! 000
SimonG 🇨🇦🥈 @simongodly.bsky.social · 24/09/2026You lose points for even thinking about reheating coffee. 😉 000
jody-h.bsky.social @jody-h.bsky.social · 24/09/2026My husband makes coffee from freshly ground beans (every morning to drink in bed). If there are leftovers he microwaves it the next morning. Dee-lish and we never have to buy coffee outside our home. 000
Mr Greengrass 🇨🇦 ❤️ ✌️🏳️🌈 @marginman3.bsky.social · 23/09/2026This is what I miss most about living in a large city (Montreal). There are no small neighborhood cafes where we live now. What I wouldn’t do for a proper latte. 000

[PTИA]🇲🇽🏜 @ptna666.bsky.social · 23/09/2026My local coffee shop needs to be in my fridge. I don't know how people go out for coffee. I need that first thing in the morning. 150
Jen @brokemycoccyx.bsky.social · 23/09/2026At my chain shop.. we refill hot/iced coffee, cold brew, and hot/iced teas for free as long as you stay in the cafe. No limits. I think it’s pretty standard except for maybe Dunkin.. Refills on certain things should be free… 020
Wichita (🇺🇸) @wichita.bsky.social · 23/09/2026I would be very sus of a barista who would microwave a coffee. I'm a schlub and I won't 020

Jeri Westerson @jeriwesterson.bsky.social · 23/09/2026No coffee shop will microwave cold coffee. It's a liability issue. And coffee is so cheap for them to just give you a new one. But I'm sure your local is cozy and warm. 040
Deva Woodly @devawo.bsky.social · 24/09/2026I can just imagine the mild horror on my old local baristas face. Microwave your coffee? Good baristas don’t allow their customers to make those kinds of compromises to their wellbeing. 010
Dean Astumian, OFS @deanast.bsky.social · 23/09/2026they are more concerned that your coffee taste good than milking every last cent of profit, it is nice to deal with people who appreciate what they sell and want you to do so as well. 090
Tony @togeyboi.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Why I love my neighborhood grocery store, pharmacy, convenience store, burger and Mexican food, weed shop, donut shop, discount bread store* All locally owned (* Franz bread ) All within 4 blocks, and although I don't walk very good anymore, all are within easy reach of my cheap electric scooter 040
Aoife @aoife-rose.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Right. So this was not a thing they were doing 4 u specifically. It's health code. Large corporate cafe or small family owned. By law, they can not reheat a half drinked coffee in a dirty mug in the single unit available & meant 2 serve all customers. Bacteria & allergens & all that jazz. 000
Angela Lordi @angelalordi.bsky.social · 24/09/2026It's lovely that they gave you a fresh one. But they cannot take your food back from you and reheat it. The health codes are quite strict about that. 000

Seattle Scott @seattlescott.bsky.social · 23/09/2026I don’t know where you are… similar vibe in one of coffee houses here in Seattle. I have at least 2 in the market that will give you a second cup on a second visit! Haha…”didn’t you already buy something here??” and the freebie flows :) I am in love with Seattle 000
mswifty.bsky.social @mswifty.bsky.social · 23/09/2026I don't go to coffee shops anymore, but I know that this is the right way to do it, once coffee is microwaved, it changes the flavor and makes it undrinkable imhlo.🤢 020
ThatBitch @erikak.bsky.social · 24/09/2026I love it when the owner is back there making lattes, or ringing up the orders They are always so happy you're there 010
Norse Dog @norsedog.bsky.social · 24/09/2026FWIW: microwaving cold coffee is preferable to continuously heating it (like in one of the drip machines). Also, man, local coffee shops... although we have a long way to go until we can match Italy. 030
rockymtnwanderer.bsky.social @rockymtnwanderer.bsky.social · 24/09/2026I’m sure a coffee chain would have done the same for you. But they would have forced you to log your request on an app that requires a new username and password, a checked box to receive unsolicited email, and then they would have billed you another 95 cents as a “convenience charge”. 020
