The internet is wild, where you can watch a phrase be coined for one specific use, get co-opted by the mainstream, and turned into meaning the opposite of what it was trying to be in the first place. I don't know if there's a name for it beyond the euphemism treadmill, but it happens so much.

I enjoy reading, but 1) I’m kinda slow 2) it takes awhile for me to concentrate on it 3) I’ve read before bed so much that I think I’ve trained my body to start feeling sleepy after reading. So whenever I have to read for work now I just start getting more and more sleepy and that is not helpful.

Saying we should all go back to physical media I think misses the point. I actually *like* buying games and movies digitally for a bunch of reasons. What we need is better consumer protections so the things we do buy digitally are actually owned and companies cant delete/revoke access!

Finally after seeing the finale, I totally do believe this. Either that or he's genderfluid. Can't really think of anything else. Also that ending was the second time I've cried since Project Hail Mary had me bawling. That slideshow seen was something only compassionate humans could pull off.

I'm very sad to hear that Marjane Satrapi passed away today at the age of 56. It's not often that an author gets to adapt their own book into a film, but she got to do so with Persepolis and I remember really adoring that film when I saw it. I'm very sad to hear of her death.

You know what I just realized? Elemental was the first film I recall people accusing of "being written by ChatGPT". That film came out in June 2023, while ChatGPT launched in November 2022. It took basically half a year for ChatGPT to become a punchline.
