Secret hack: all it took was my wife (very dramatically!) nearly dying in right front of me twice in a week, 8 months as a full-time carer, a cancer scare for me and ptsd to make me make change the course of the ship. Would I recommend it? Jury’s out

Somehow I’ve turned my life upside down, started playing 5 hours of football a week, falling in love with it & meeting cool new people, on course to finish my PhD, planning a wedding, having a social life, not batshit insane, feel mostly good most of the time. Honestly didn’t know this was possible

"I completely get it," Starmer says, adding: "Local people by and large do not want these hotels in their towns, in their place, and nor do I. I'm completely at one with them on that."
Starmer says he understands why people want the hotels closed and he wants that too "as quickly as possible".
Asked to put a date on it, Starmer reiterates his commitment to do so by the end of this Parliament.
When it's put to him that is four years away, he says he would like to bring that date forward, but does not commit to another date.

We had a video call with an epilepsy nurse this morning who met with us for free for way over our allotted time, answered our questions calmly and clearly, was genuinely lovely, and then referred us for ongoing support, sent resources and courses for us to take. It was honestly amazing
