Car prices are insane here. Ban selling 'luxury' cars over $50k, require lengthy reviews and public comments before bringing any new cars into town, force dealers to sell cheap cars at a loss, and ensure no profits for those greedy dealers. That'll make cars more affordable in our city!

Some dismiss "build across price range" as "trickle-down scam." But an empty home costs money and generates no rental income. Owners have a strong incentive to find a living, breathing occupant, staring a moving chain (which can be pretty fast and real, unlike "trickle-down economics").

Of course you'd expect massive congestion when you increase the road capacity by 4-5x. According to nacto, *dedicated* transit lane can carry ~5x more people than a car lane and ~4x more people than a car lane with frequent bus. "Not stuck in the traffic" is such a powerful upgrade for transit.
