Just finished a batch of badlands terrain and took a family photo adding in my existing collection. #wargaming #miniatures #minipainting Inching closer to my stupid campaign idea of a genestealer riding around in the back of a pickup, and I have just found a wonderful model reminiscent of Tremors.

Painted up some basic troops from the Wargames Atlantic Raumjager box. One of the few paint schemes that such a simple approach to basing has really worked for me. #miniatures #wargaming Really looking forward to the couple characters I put together.

Tried out the Five Parsecs From Home: Planetfall combat rules for a scenario I wanted to try. My band of salvagers ran around the board, found prizes, and then made a new friend who will guide them for the rest of their days. Bram here almost made it back to the twin autocannons. #miniature #wargame

Enjoying myself and painting up some reaper bugs. That moment of wondering if the wash is going to fix or doom a mini is always interesting. #miniatures

The most important lesson I learned in film school was that if they’re portraying something in a piece of media, that means the creator approves of it, unless the characters end the piece by turning to the camera and saying “I understand that what just happened was bad and shouldn’t be done”

This is actually an interesting point because Robert E. Howard DID NOT invent the brainless barbarian stereotype. Quite the opposite: Conan the Cimmerian is hella smart. But let me break this down a bit.

The hero being illiterate (and maybe not that smart) while the villain is literate is an interesting trope in the classic Sword and Sorcery fantasy. Why did writers like Robert E. Howard and others like this? Presuming it is Howard that got this started.

I've been head down trying to get a project done this month for a friend's memorial in May. One of his last projects was this stormcast army, we'd talked through his scheme and I offered to help him with them. In the end he didn't get to finish them so I'm working on that. #warhammer #sigmar

Cloth toy miniatures from Statuesque Miniatures' Left at the Bottom of the Garden range admire 1/48 scale furniture that Andrew has made for them. The furniture is painted in a nice light green with stained wood work surfaces.
