Yesterday I cast the last of the minis needed for the Cloth Trows Kickstarter 🙌 If you're a backer for the metal minis and you haven't done so already, check the latest KS update to see what you have to do next. I'll be packing orders soon. They're also up for preorder! statuesqueminiatures.co.uk
A photo of four painted miniatures of bean-shaped cloth creatures, with their eyes visible through a hood opening like a zipped up parka. One trow has their arms folded over a walking stick, the others are holding crooked sticks. One is waving. They have blue-grey bodies, two-tone on a pair of them, and beige faces and arms. The miniatures are painted with a speckled effect that have been applied with a toothbrush. They are stood on a slate roof tile and there are sparkly orange lights in the dark background.

Finished my little cloth minis from @statuesque.bsky.social - these were completely different to the usual minis I paint, as the purposefully low-detail sculpts means I didn't have dry-brushing or washes to hide my mistakes! But really enjoyed this cute lot. #hobby #minipainting #miniatures

Despite yesterday's post, I hit the painting station today and got to work on some cloth goblins and cloth adventurers from @statuesque.bsky.social I've had these for ages and it's criminal I've left them for so long! Just waiting for a wash to dry before I get back to them
Miniatures partly painted sitting on black paper, alongside a pair of paint bottles. The minis from left to right are: cloth goblin with spear and shield with green flesh and red clothes; cloth goblin sergeant with sword and shield with green flesh and purple clothes; cloth goblin with spear and shield with green flesh and olive clothes; cloth goblin with spear and shield with green flesh and blue clothes; cloth cat wizard with a brown staff with red hat and clothes and grey fur; cloth crow-thing with a gold oil lamp with purple body parts and yellow clothes; cloth rogue with pink body parts, navy robe and hood, and red scarf and face mask. The two paint bottles are Army Painter brand paints, the one on the left is gold and the one on the right is gun metal. A desk top and a red packet can be seen in the background.

Ok now I'm just messing about and need to leave the scenic muffin alone. I've used sepia and yellow inks mixed with thin matt varnish to tint the flock. The yellow is less vibrant in reality and will likely dry more subtle. Maybe? No idea 🤷 kickstarter.com/projects/statuesque/cloth-trows

Well all that glue is going to take a very long time to dry. The cloth trows will just have to wait for their scenic muffin. It was very peaceful flocking the flock and tufting the tufts though. While we wait, check out the Cloth Trows Kickstarter! kickstarter.com/projects/statuesque/cloth-trows

With morning eyes, I see I didn't do a great job positioning everyone on the scenic muffin. The elder trow is very close to the front and there's a lot of space at the back. It's like the elder trow is going to tap on the glass to be let out. kickstarter.com/projects/statuesque/cloth-trows

I've plucked at it with tweezers and scraped at it with a pokey thing. I've glued some cork debris to build certain parts up, too. I'll have my tea then have another look at it. Some adjustments needed to the taper, I think. kickstarter.com/projects/statuesque/cloth-trows

The basic form is done, now I just need to make it look, you know, good. And it needs to fit in the dome, which it currently doesn't. I might add another layer on the bottom but that depends how it looks inside the dome. kickstarter.com/projects/statuesque/cloth-trows
Four painted miniatures of cloth creatures on a rough scenic base made out of torn cork coasters. There's a pile of cork debris beside this, but that'll be useful for rubble and stuff so it's not waste. The dome for all this is in the background.

I want to make a scenic muffin for the painted trows so they fill their dome a bit better. I'll probably use the wee dome, so it'll only be a mini-muffin. But not small enough to be classed as a scenic macaroon or scenic biscuit. kickstarter.com/projects/statuesque/cloth-trows
A photo of my desk with a stack of cork coasters with four cloth trow miniatures on them, two differently sized glass domes with cork bases and a scenic muffin-shaped display thing tiered to allow various miniatures to be seen easily. It's meant to look like a chunk of terrain ripped from the ground. There are various cloth creature miniatures on the scenic muffin.

Unsuccessfully trying to avoid looking at Kickstarter (it's passed the funding goal - thanks all!) by painting some cloth trows. They're denim, I guess. kickstarter.com/projects/statuesque/cloth-trows
Work in progress painted cloth trow miniatures, with blue-grey bodies and pale beige faces and arms.

The Cloth Trows Kickstarter is live! I hope you like them. I'm really happy with how they've turned out and really want to get them out into the world! Please do take a wee look. All pledges, shares, likes and comments much appreciated. kickstarter.com/projects/statuesque/cloth-trows
A photo of ten metal miniatures of bean-shaped cloth creatures, with their eyes visible through a hood opening like a zipped up parka. One trow has their arms folded over a walking stick, the others are holding crooked sticks. Some are waving. They are stood on a slate roof tile and there are sparkly orange lights in the dark background. The text reads: "Cloth Trows! From Statuesque Miniatures. On Kickstarter Now!"
