That said, the way I tend to spot it myself (uncommon) is when I look through code and see nonsensical but harmless snippets, like an if statement that ultimately does nothing relevant Stuff like that is like sixth fingers in visual art. It's a little more vulnerable to false alarm though

Decompiling a thing is usually a HUGE endeavor, and so, therefore, is any recomp. At that rate, it's more likely to never get finished than finish with poor quality…unless it didn't actually take all that effort.

It's pretty hard to tell where code comes from; there may be context clues, like a change in writing style, but even a single author's style can "change" depending on context The key thing is that if it's vibe-coded, it's usually poorly made, since the barrier of entry is much lower

The object of many games may be to try and win, but why do we play games? Even in the simplest case, to kill time/have idle fun, making a bot for it defeats the point. It might make for good research/practice! But in that case the product isn't the point; the process is. Just like art and games.
