Went through a weird Metroid 2 era during my gaming downtime where I beat Samus Returns 3DS, then AM2R (Twice) Gamers™️tend to put them against one another, but I was just intrigued by the approaches of both games, and seeing the blossoming ideas that turned into Dread from Samus Returns

I think what keeps the world working for me is how they keep the weirdness where they need it Like, look at this Beamos redesign! It's like a scraggly animatronic with bits of rubber flesh cracking away, but the teeth and gums look a little too fleshy to be fake I love how unsettling it is!

Also, I think Ocarina strikes a good balance between "You can just walk into a shop smoothly because we can do that now" and "We still transition you to castle town with a matte painting texture at the end of the entrance gate because it preserves implied scale"

As a whole, I'm not as confronted by the Ocarina of Time remake's look as I thought I'd be. I think the animations and strong silhouettes of NPCs are strikingly familiar, while areas look like someone had a lot of fun reimagining them outside of adding the most graphics ever

Ultimately, I think it's great for the character action Gundam to set out to create its own unique look! I think it's better for it, and don't want to give the vibe that they should keep it to the hits I just do agree that there's a lot to poke at, and want it to put it's best foot forward

After getting a chance to look at newly posted mobile suits and concept art for Gundam Rogue Orbit, I do think they're inherently good designs, but suffer when translated into 3D models since the stronger shape language gets sanded down
