And they wonder why no one is upset when a health insurance ceo is murdered
Tweet from @KayeSteinsapir reading:
"It's disheartening when your child dies, you make the excruciating decision to donate her organs (which substantially compounds your grief and trauma), then you have to pay $3150 because your insurance company @AnthemBCBS wouldn't pay to keep her body alive for donor recipients."

Below is a screenshot of a claim summary from Anthem showing "Support For Organ Donation" and that she owes $3,150

‪I created a starter pack for philosophers (and one or two folks adjacent to philosophy) who are interested in, and contribute to philosophical pedagogy. It's decidedly incomplete for now, so if you don't mind, please help me find folks who work on teaching philosophy! go.bsky.app/RpNe6Gs

Everyone wants to talk about "the hard problem of consciousness" but no one seems interested in identifying the psychopath who locked Mary in a black and white room for long enough for her to learn every physical fact about color.

I don’t care that much about either team in the Super Bowl this year, so as usual, I’ll just be cheering for the team whose victory is most likely to make annoying people sad. So, let’s go Kansas City!!

This tendency really bothers me in the free will debate. While I ultimately reject free will skepticism, in conversations I often find myself defending it as a plausible view worth considering because people are so prone to strawmanning it.

We could feed the world now. We could raise everyone out of poverty now. It’s not our lack of “AI” or “AGI” or scientific prowess that prevents this. It’s our lack of will—some might say, of caring. Sunak should’ve read some Kierkegaard in his PPE program.
