If I found bug damage in a package of yarn that I had JUST OPENED, I'd take pictures. The one time I had an issue with damaged yarn, the pictures helped prove that UPS damaged the package and it was much easier to resolve. PICS BEFORE AND AFTER OPENING!!!

My best #knitting advice is to listen to techno while you work on your project. It will speed up your stitches when you #knit to the beat of the music. Sandstorm by Darude is 136 bpm so it helps me work 68 purls per minute! #Fiberartist #knittothebeat

I’ve made all the mistakes and figured out my best tension for these holes with the cheap rainbow striping single ply at the bottom. Now I’m on to the actual project in a gorgeous gradient of burgundy red to bright green. Pattern is Trypophobia by @xandypeters.bsky.social Knit 🧶 #knitsky #craftsky

#ShowMeYourKnits #WIP Wanted to try a stacked-stitch design by @xandypeters.bsky.social, so I dove into my stash for Eccentricity. I used a smaller gauge and have enough yarn left, so I’m now adding an extra lace insert. This shawl will be so very big! 🧶 #knitsky www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib...

An Eccentricity shawl in progress. The shawl is an asymmetrical crescent design in four colors. It starts as a more regular crescent consisting of bands of periwinkle blue, mocha, and chocolate yarns (three colors of leftover Lana Gatto VIP, which is so very soft). Each strip has stacked stitches, a Xandy Peters hallmark, which make the edges between the blue and light brown yarns super wavy. After the fifth band, three wedges of variegated pink and cream lace mesh erupt from the right edge of the shawl in between the blue and brown strips. Here, I held together two Walk Collection yarns in different color ways, fire lily and pearl. The pattern as written has two more rows and a bind off, but as we speak I’m in the middle of a fourth lace section. Mind you, the pattern is already slated to be over six feet long, but I used fingering weight and lace weight held together instead of DK weight, so mine might not be SO much bigger. Go big or go home!

An early progress shot of my Eccentricity shawl. No lace yet, and I’m just at the point in the fourth blue and brown and brown color band where I’m about to remove the gazillion stitch markers after closing up the fourth stacked-stitch section. By the eighth band, the one I’m just finishing in the previous photo, I’m so deeply into my stitch markers supply that I started only marking every other stack. Fortunately, the increases and decreases had already become pretty intuitive through repeated practice before I started the first short-row lace section. The lace stitch pattern is also very cool, by the way. Eccentricity is super fun to knit.

My favourite of your stripe designs will always be Linear Moods. @gobsmackedyarn.bsky.social was kind enough to custom dye yarn for me in appropriate portions, and it's the floatiest, snuggliest blanket of a shawl! (It's laceweight so it's HYUUUUGE, in the best way.)

The Stroopwafel Shawl has a basket weave stitch that reminds me of the Dutch cookie of the same name. The center of the shawl is knit in a woven cabled motif. At the edge of the triangle, the stitch pattern transitions seamlessly into a lacy lattice. The cables create an extra warm, spongy fabric that is sure to keep you warm.
