A new subReddit! I started F1forAll after attending my first grand prix in Montreal last month. So much of what I experienced was super fun, exciting and more than I could have hoped for, but... www.reddit.com/r/F1forAll/ ...more #f1 #accessibility #disability #mobility #formulaone 🏎️ 🏁

Doctor Who fans, help? I vividly remember an episode where everyone in the world is unable to resist getting a free cell phone. Soon everyone has them. And then bad things happen. Am I misremembering? Was it not Doctor Who? Google and DW episode lists are failing me.

Half-assed PT eval diagnosed carpal tunnel (aaaagh) and dequervain’s. Going to a new PT Tuesday for (hopefully!) more than just a cursory set of tests and a 5-minute laser session. Google reviews lie. Take care of your hands and writer, folx. I’m going stir crazy trying to rest mine. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I’m freaking out. I spent quite a bit of time playing a PS5 game (borderlands 4). For several months. And over the last week, I’ve been crocheting up a storm on a hexagranny cardigan. This morning, my right hand was numb. One of the 2 hands I had fixed with carpal tunnel surgery 10 years ago.

Want to hear me (editor, Amy) on stimulants, talking about Knitty? farmfiberknits.com/long-thread-... I was only on 2nd line meds (Strattera) for ADHD until recently. I added Concerta in a few months ago. I think I can hear the difference in this interview. Talk faster, fewer brain glitches. Crazy.

While we're talking menopause and HRT, this is very important info that I didn't get until I was 63. Even if you can't take HRT, vaginal estrogen (like Vagifem) is for more than sexual function. It helps keep your urinary tract functioning properly. The importance of this cannot be overstated.

While we're talking, if you're in peri-menopause and haven't talked to your doctor about hormone replacement therapy, PLEASE DO ASAP. Learn your options. New science in the last year shows the risk is much less than previously believed, and you have a short window to start before it's unsafe.

Just back from the Hamilton Fibre Market at the Cotton Factory and it was great! I usually don't buy much as a wool allergic knitter, but I got to buy a batt of local wool for a friend who's a spinner and very far away. Can't share because I don't know if she's on here. www.thefibreforge.ca 🧶

Where my late-diagnosed neurodivergent peeps at? AuDHD, diagnosed last year. I'm 64. How's that for late? The ADHD diagnosis happened in the early stages of the pandemic. That meant titrating meds when my anxiety level was already off the charts.

"Capable and straightforward guidance" is the cozy knitting approach we need right now, am I right? Thanks, @knitty.com, for this review of MATH FOR KNITTERS, by @kateatherley.bsky.social! Read the whole thing at knitty.com/ISSUEw25/FEA....
Against a background of yarn and knitting projects and notions is a post-it note that reads, "I don't think I know a knitter who wouldn't benefit from Atherley's capable and straightforward guidance. –Knitty.com." Sharing a good experience: we had a car to sell and the dealer offered us a measly $1200 over the lease buyout cost. So I went to clutch.ca and they offered $4k. And today, they picked up the car, inspected it, and the money was in our account within an hour. Way easy. However...

Oh ffs, this is just stupid and lazy. Not a trace of real interest in showing how knitting works. Everyone's being let down by #Gameofwool, even Tom Daley. I'm very disappointed in the judges not insisting on better. Surprised no-one jumped ship when they realised quite how rubbish it really is.

Two days ago, I had tiny needles shoot goop into the varicose vein on the back of my left leg. The hardest part? The sensory nightmare of a tensor bandage falling off when it's supposed to be snug to make the treatment work. Vetwrap saved the day for my thigh but didn't have enough for whole leg.

Knitters, have you ever knitted the body of a dropped-shoulder pullover flat (front, back separate), and sleeves in the round? Will sewing up be a nightmare? I like the idea of making the sleeves in the round but my brain doesn’t parse spatial stuff well so I can’t picture if I can make it work. 🧶
