I’m not going to read this trash but I’m assuming the author didn’t look at any polling. It shouldn’t be surprising if you talk to anyone with young children, but universal day care/day care subsidies is popular and there’s bipartisan support among the electorate.

Many people who were critical of MPD cost overruns were denounced as alarmist or anti-police. Now MPD has admitted to the abuse of overtime hours. I am grateful current leadership is cracking down but deeply frustrated by this betrayal of the public trust and the time it took to get answers.

I have complicated thoughts about AI. But I know one thing - if you want to work for a big company and have an email/meeting type job, the expectation is very much “get on board or get left behind”. If that’s not for you, that’s fine. But that’s where we are.

Received an update about The Loma construction, which started earlier this month at 33rd and Nicollet. They are hoping to complete construction by Oct ‘27. 13 month build. Plans still include an African restraurant on the ground level. Looking forward to more good food options in the neighborhood.

A bat found in downtown Minneapolis last week tested positive for rabies - and on Monday, health officials said they identified the woman who may have handled it.
The Minnesota Department of Health had posted public notices seeking her so she could get a rabies assessment.
The woman was walking her dog around noon on Sept. 15 and noticed a bat on the sidewalk on Hennepin Avenue between N. Washington Avenue and N. 3rd Street. According to the Health Department, she picked up the bat with a plastic bag and gave it to a passing couple who offered to take the bat to a wildlife rehabilitation center in Roseville.
The bat died shortly after arriving at the rehab facility, and its rabies test came back positive on Friday.

Martiya, a new restaurant owned by the Afro Deli, looks close to completion at 3030 Nicollet. The sign is up and looks really nice, along with the interior. Looks upscale yet cozy at the same time. Very excited to see what the menu will be like.
