The film unearths new dimensions of this story, and underscores an important point: the phenomenon of oligarchs acquiring supra-governmental power, without elected roles and often with little accountability, is bigger than Elon Musk, and we’re all living with the consequences.

New project for you all: I produced “Musk,” Alex Gibney’s extraordinary documentary, rolling out now.

Makes me think of the “I’m not a witch” candidate. Memories.

I already thought she was considering a run for mayor, and now I’m convinced. She doesn’t seem interested, at all, in the work of a CM. She wants to be the executive.

Adam @wyseapple.bsky.social · 8h

She’s using some really twisted logic to argue that MPD has been defunded. What a joke. She also should spend more time working with other CMs - that’s how you will find cuts. But she wants to hammer this out with department leaders?

It's all about debt! Just like residential real estate a lot of rent-setting these days is about landlords who are over-leveraged and are struggling to pay debt service rather than about rising operating costs.

The lake loop concept is smart but of course it’s not going anywhere as long as people on the panel represent the influence brokers. So, we just get the same complaints or excuses - we need more parking, more policing, and, oh, btw, hahahaha, rents are never coming down so shut up about that.

They say these things at a venue where almost everyone who showed up drove into Uptown, parked, and then walked. And this was days after Hennepin Open Streets. Some people live in a fantasy world and don’t have any interesting or helpful ideas.

This weather is a hate crime. I just want to wear my cute fall jackets

Hennepin Open Streets felt like a check the box, we did it, experience 🙃

My internet sleuthing skills keep coming in handy at work 😂. I STG, if police departments started hiring internet experts as investigators, so many crimes would get solved.

I also foresee dem presidential candidates who are Biden alums to face more scrutiny over why they were silent about Biden’s decline than they will about all the Trump admin alums running, like Rubio, who will get positive portrayals about how he was trying to fight from inside

The way the Star Tribune is covering the key statewide races is revealing about how legacy media at large will cover politics post-Trump. And by that, I mean they’ll be quick to turn the page and forget the last 12 years. A “mulligan” for every Republican who supported Trump or stood by silent.

She’s acting like she’s in an America’s Next Top Model photo shoot. And this why we all need friends who we can trust to tell us “stop, just stop” when we are acting up.

That looks like the pizza we’d get when I visited my grandparents and it was just called “pizza”. It came from some neighborhood place a few blocks away. Always good too.

It’s also very awkward to try to shower or brush my hair. So I wore a hat on all my calls today 🤷🏻‍♂️.

4 days into healing and I’m humbled. Can’t lift 10 lbs. No working out. Can’t twist. Can’t stretch. Hard to lay down. Hard to sit on the couch. Made crumbs in the kitchen and decided the broom would be too risky. So now there are just crumbs on the floor. 😭😭😭

I do hope I’m wrong or that what I’m saying will turn out to be exaggerated. But I have - for better or worse - a front row seat right now. It’s not a blip. It’s not gradual. Things are accelerating in ways I’ve never seen before.

Adam @wyseapple.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Shame on anyone covering these developments who don’t want to think bigger or want to engage what’s going to happen next.

Simultaneously, there will be tremendous wealth creation as corporate profits soar. But we’ve seen this before and it isn’t good for society, politics, or workers.

Adam @wyseapple.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

If we don’t start planning for large scale disruption now, it’s going to be too late. Even a reduction of 10, 15 or 20% of white collar jobs in a region would be devastating.

110

Adam @wyseapple.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

And I damn well know it’s going to be the same response as we’re seeing now that ride share drivers face near-term job replacement. “These jobs are antiquated”. “People will just have to find something else”. “We can’t stop technological change”.

120

Adam @wyseapple.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

While I’m glad at least some policy makers are focusing on job impacts to ride share caused by AI and automation, the Twin Cities has several hundred thousand white collar/professional jobs. I genuinely believe the number of these jobs is going to decrease over the next decade.

I’m not a shots person, but if they get a liquor license, a round of shots is on me

Driftwood, unchained. The city looks like it is going to rescind operating conditions that were put in place in 2009 that, among other things, prohibited happy hour and a full liquor license

I don't wanna COUCH my words here: I know JD Vance, his eyeliner, and absent Ashley Moody are used to running away from people when things get tough because they care more about themselves and their billionaire buddies than the people they represent. But this is my home. /1

As feared/suspected, my student loan payment is doubling starting next month. The spread between that payment and my mortgage will be very thin. Going to cling onto my 2.99% mortgage rate for dear life.

Was lucky to snag tickets to see Sara Bareilles last night and it was just incredible but extremely emotional. One of the best things I’ve ever experienced live. She is just beyond talented and that voice is something else.

Saw somewhere else that the Minneapolis metro has had some of the best job growth lately, which is incredible given all we’ve been through

MN came in 5th. So much for the narrative that we are anti-business and scare away growth with our whacky policies and taxes.

I have to go 2 weeks without lifting 10lbs or working out 😫 but apparently I could do light running except that I fucking hate running. The only time I ever want to run is if it’s literally a life or death type of deal.

It might end up making Lake and Blaisdell slightly better but then Lake and Nicollet turns into a cluster … I guess we shall find out

The global bond rout about to become even more rout-y

It would have been better if this was transit only! I hope when the 18 gets BRT treatment, we can add some safety improvements along Nicollet. A full reconstruction would be nice. The pavement is beat to hell in so many places.

Can’t wait for this! Also, can some local billionaire or multi millionaire splash some money around and pay for the new park to get built? Given all our fiscal issues, I’m worried that that parcel is going to be dirt for years.

Latest WSJ poll: "63% want to pause AI development 61% want a billionaire wealth tax 59% want Medicare for All 57% want a $20 minimum wage 58% want to end U.S. military aid to Israel" This is the center of the country politically. it is time all adjust to this political spectrum, esp. media.
