University leaders seem to forget that "the public" includes students, faculty, and staff who study and work at the institutions they lead. The "public" is not some external, amorphous thing to the university. If you can't treat the people on your campus with decency, then yeah, they won't trust you

i worry that men think being A Good Guy is dramatically and heroically intervening on behalf of an endangered woman and then being publicly rewarded on a grand scale when actually being A Good Guy is just usually saying, “hey man that’s not funny” or “wow that’s fucked up” and there is no reward

Not only did I meet Robert Kraft, I worked for him. His kid Jonathan asked me to “remove the black music” from my gameday playlist in ‘94 & I refused so they fired me. I was the cheerleader director at the time. I sued them for wrongful termination and won. So yes, I know that motherfucker.

After my small experiment last week with "Ai Detectors," I have concluded that they are BULLSHIT. A paragraph that I wrote 100% on my own got between 0% to 25% AI detection using 4 different services. It's bullshit. If someone was using the 25% detection tool, then what?

Bless all vaccines & the people who make them possible - especially Novavax. I am so grateful for a non-mRNA vax that doesn't level me for 2 days, or give me armpit swelling for weeks. I'm a Novavax evangelist & so glad to see it's more ubiquitous this year than in the past. PS: get your flu shot!

What I very clearly remember was the paranoia. This was especially true if you were part of any activist circles. And the unity was bullshit. I wore a very simple 'No War' 🚫 pin on my bag while grocery shopping, and a man got in my face and just started screaming at me in the frozen food aisle...

There are already articles circulating trying to rewrite history and say America was great after 9/11 and united and thoughtful and just a reminder that that period was marked by intense and insanely racist hatred, paranoia, and a frothing desire for unhinged violence and oppression.

I'm sorry, I cannot and will not leave individual reviews for stores, products, or doctors I've seen. It's constant and repetitive! I will leave a review for project contractors or trades workers, because those are important for their business. But, If you don't hear from me, consider me satisfied.

We were picking up branches in the yard. Our neighbor emerged with his gas powered leaf blower, lasted about 2 minutes before giving up. Mind you, this man used to travel the state calibrating lab microscopes before retiring, but is somehow unaware of the physics of leaf blowing in the rain.

She shouldn't have been charged at all, forced to give birth in jail, or take a plea deal. Her original charge was 1st degree murder. Justice for Keshia, and for all women who usually serve much longer sentences for trying to escape abuse than their abusers face for committing domestic violence.

🧵 I got my first dose of the shingles vax today, a few years early. 50 is such an arbitrary age for coverage. Shouldn't people who didn't have access to the chickenpox vax qualify? The chicken pox vaccine wasn't broadly available in the US until the mid 90s, so us 80s kids just got chickenpox...

Data center encroachment is unpopular across the political spectrum. The issue of hyperscale data centers would be a slam dunk for Democrats if they'd quit dilly dallying and get on the moratorium train. They're banking on big tech $$ to win, when all they have to do is *listen to constituents*.

Another horrific layer to Israel's genocide of Palestinians. We must say exactly what is happening. This specific call for terrorism reminds me of the Bosnian genocide, where people were hunted for sport by the VRS and by wealthy tourists. I've run out of words to describe the depravity.

Big tech is steeped in non-consent. We could argue all day what type of center this is: "research computing" "data" etc. Ypsilanti residents have repeatedly said no to this project, for a variety of well-researched reasons (environmental, community, ethical). The point: UM is forcing it on them.
