The seas are getting fairer and we seeing a lot of life offshore. Lots to share, but to start… PILOT WHALES!!! 🦑🐳🌿 Breaches at ~14, 20, & 28 seconds. This was a huge group that joined us for a while alongside the vessel, & even now several hours later we can see them far off the back deck.

My current job has “assistant” in the title—I do procurement, logistics, scheduling, customer service and managing people in both directions. I can’t adequately describe the enormous scaffold of details I need to do it correctly and how often people and weather blow a hole in things.

Tweed is such a beautiful fabric to wear this time of year because it produces, in Dolly Parton's phrasing, a coat of many colors. Even a solid-colored brown is not just brown, but bits of red, blue, and yellow to produce something that looks lifted off the Scottish landscape.

Children in foster care (as well as many adoptees) are routinely medicated with antipsychotics and antidepressants, often more for behavioral compliance than sx management of a legitimate diagnosis. Meds are cheaper for the state than the long-term therapy these kids actually need.
