Chapter 5: Feel Me on Your Lips

When is the elevator going to arrive?

The warmth of Lucifer’s arm near hers is seeping through the fabric of her jacket as they both stand side-by-side in the garage. He clenches his fist and opens his hand but doesn’t attempt to close the gap between them. The air is thick, weighted with expectation.

This is it. They are going to have sex. Lots of amazing sex.

Chloe expected to be nervous—about who he is, what this means, and all the rest of it, but she isn’t. Not about the sex part. Not even about the size of him. She glances over. Okay maybe slightly about that. It’s been a while. But his clear, obvious, and visible interest in her makes the amount of his experience with sex a nonissue, other than guaranteeing she will be both sated and ruined for anyone else by the time they are done.

As far who he is? Tomorrow’s problem, she decides.

Which brings her to what this means. That’s where her worries are creating butterflies in her stomach, because while she already knew she wanted to have sex with Lucifer—though not how much—she hasn't admitted until today how utterly, hopelessly in love she is with him. Is her heart safe? She hopes so, but she still feels as though she is jumping into the deep end without a paddle.

The elevator dings, and the door slides open. Lucifer’s hand hovers behind her to usher her in.

As the door closes behind them, Chloe turns to him. She has no idea who moves first, nor does she care, because they are kissing, and it feels so damn good. Pangs of need shoot down her spine to her core as she clenches around nothing. He is massaging her backside the way he did in the lab earlier, but now they don't have to stop.

In fact, they better not stop. Chloe Decker is off the clock, and her sole plan for the rest of the night is to finally, finally have sex with Lucifer Morningstar.

Personally I post once and run to hide. 😆 But I think the "too often" depends on the updating frequency. If a fic is updated every week, a couple of posts per update are enough, because it's constantly circulated and reposted anyway. If it's updated every few months, it's okay to do 4-5.

A (nearly) empty beach, a convenient rock formation, and a Devil that wants to play. Add in a Detective wearing entirely sheer lingerie under an inspiring sundress, and it’s time to investigate all the possibilities of skirts, especially the naughty ones.

Work Text:

Lucifer brushes shoulders with Chloe as they walk aimlessly along the beach. There are some rocks ahead, and as the Detective always needs a goal, however pointless, they are working their way towards them. It’s enough for him to be here with her—his feet in the sand, the smell of salt in his nose, and the sound of her laughter in his ears.

Waves lap onto the sand, nearly wetting her sandals, as seabirds cry in the surf. The sun is warm on their backs. He squints behind his sunglasses, tipping his head to the sky, thankful for the light clouds providing some relief and protection from burns—though Chloe provided more in her insistence on sunscreen. He laughs softly to himself at the absurdity of the Devil needing protection from fire.

A gust of wind eddies around them, ruffling the casual—though designer—shirt and shorts he is wearing. More absurd than sunburn is the wardrobe she insisted on for their weekend away.

Lucifer tangles his fingers with hers and pulls her to a stop, lifting her hand to his mouth. He sucks on her fingertips, tasting the sea air on them.

Chloe kneels at Lucifer’s side as he sits on the bed, his back to the headboard. He is quiet, contained, and entirely unLucifer-like. No fidgeting. No off-color remarks. No chattering to fill the silence.

Instead nerves are rolling off of him in waves.

Not his usual mood when they are in bed naked together.

She knows she needs to get on with this, because every minute of watching him wind himself up with the fear she will reject him, is breaking her heart all over again.

She lifts herself onto her knees, tenderly cradling his face as she kisses his forehead.

“Wings out,” she whispers.

With a rustle and a shift in the air, they appear. He stretches them out until they are fully extended. The feathers flutter gently. She glides her hands along them. He makes a small noise, as though he wants to relax, to enjoy her touch, but cannot.

Without prompting, he lifts his arms, crossing his wrists above him. She gathers the chains he had attached to the ceiling and—with a combination of chains and straps—ties his hands together.

She checks as she works to make sure she can fit a few fingers between his hands and the restraints. She wants them looser than usual.

Finally, she’s happy with them and nods with satisfaction.

Sipping her coffee, hair still mussed from sleep, Chloe idly runs her fingers over the books in Lucifer’s library—Hamlet, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Thus Spake Zarathustra. On a whim, she pulls out a copy of The Count of Monte Cristo. First edition, of course. Signed by the author, of course. She doesn’t know if she’ll ever get used to it. She turns the page—it’s in French—and some loose papers flutter out.

Oops.

Crouching, she scoops them off the floor, but they aren’t parts of the book or related notes. They are photographs.

They are photographs of Lucifer. A photo shoot.

She leafs through them. The first few are of him in a sleek suit, jacket hanging off his arms or gone, shirt mostly unbuttoned, and a tie loosely slung around his neck. He looks like temptation—like he just had sex with the photographer, is about to, or both. And, yeah, that tracks.

She can’t make out much of the room—it’s too dark—but there’s a small table with a bottle of scotch, a glass, and a cigarette, the smoke winding upward. One side of his mouth quirks up into a dangerous smile, inviting her in. Heat pools between her legs. The penthouse feels much too warm all of a sudden.

Chloe takes another sip of her coffee. Should she go find him right now? She is pivoting when she catches a glimpse of the other photos. Carefully placing her cup on a nearby table, she pulls them out of the pile.

There are three photographs of him with a classic convertible, but she couldn’t have described anything else about the car or its surroundings if her life depended on it. Because Lucifer is no longer in a suit, half undone or otherwise, but in skin tight, lace-up leather pants, boots, a collar, and nothing else. The pants are low-slung, barely covering him. There is a visible stripe of skin from the tops of his boots to his waist.
