Solvable but requires a studio to not be frozen by analysis paralysis. 1) 20 episodes per greenlight. 2) Greenlight a new season based on gut belief in it, not based on waiting until numbers come in. This was TV for decades. Movies you can wait around for numbers, TV you can't. They're different.

Modern execs are treating this like a revelation and not a problem that they invented. Studio heads are now so inept and craven that they will not greenlight a season 2 of almost anything until they have comprehensive viewer data - this alone creates a 2 year gap in seasons.

Lower Decks x God of War Laufey mashup nobody asked for

Color sketch in the style of Star Trek Lower Decks of Beckett Mariner from kinda freaking out at Frank, the glowing cosmic cube from God of War Laufey. She points wildly at Faye, who stands heroically holding a sword. Word balloons from Mariner read: Holy shit Boims, you're a cube! How did this happen?! Who is she?! Do you think she likes girls?!

It's been fun playing a character who can only draw janky anime in D&D as a professional artist. 😏

The artist's lady warlock showing off her drawing of her patron in a janky anime art style.

Just a reminder that @mikemcmahan.bsky.social had the right of it. Though, you should NOT print out a sheet of these and slap tag them. You totally should not do that even though 6 fit nicely on an A4 sheet and are nice and readable from 20 feet away. Definitely don't put them over Flock lenses.

Feels weird to not have Solar or Lower Decks in production anymore. So proud of what we accomplished on both shows in very different ways. Thank you to everyone on both productions, and to all the fans who tuned in!!

Lower Decks Cross Stitch ~ Based on the doodle you can see on the side door of the Sequoia shuttle that our favourite heroes worked on throughout the 5 seasons of Lower Decks. #lowerdecks #startrek #crossstitch

Simple cross stitch of 5 characters from lower decks and the word "Sequoia". Originally I had planned for this just to be the four characters and the word but had to change the design when I knew T'Lyn added herself in the last season to the shuttle door.
