I've always been captivated by the "Freedom" sculpture on Vine St., of a figure breaking free of a wall in 4 stages, with the final figure on the sidewalk, arms outstretched and faced lifted. As this horrific El Niño continues to grow I think a lot about the Galapagos marine iguanas. They eat only one specific algae and warming waters kill off a lot of it. The iguanas will eat other algae out of desperation but can’t digest it, so they die of starvation with full stomachs.
