We all have experiences that shape who we become. Some teach us strength. Some teach us compassion. And some help us understand what others may be going through. Our experiences may be different, but there is always something we can all learn from each other. 😊

"This country isn't poorer because disabled people get £100 a week or asylum seekers get £49 a week. It's poorer because the very rich dodge £35bn a year as well as £100bn a year flowing into British-enabled tax havens.
We're not broke, we're being robbed." Quote by Nazir Afzal in October 2025 alongside his photograph.

I started my PhD program with an eight week old at home, sole income being my doctoral stipend, in a history program, in Knoxville, TN. And every month we got a new book to read to my son, free, mailed to us, so my kid, my kids, grew up in rooms full of books even when I had no money. That's Dolly.

The UK countryside is full of interdimensional portals. You just have to know where to look. I've decided to make a thread here of some of the best ones I've found on walks. 1. JRR Tolkien's Psychedelic Lime Kiln.
I can never resist getting inside an old lime kiln. This one was near Newton Abbott. The view up through the hole in the top of it to the overhanging trees on the ledge above is, I have to assume, even better than listening to the second Doors album on acid.

The oxygen that keeps us alive comes from natural ecosystems: half on land, half at sea. It's not complicated: we are TOTALLY dependent on the living world. Yet it's still treated as nothing but 'resources', to exploit and destroy for profit.
