A long drive home after working away never feels lonely with the #music of my teens for company When my Erasure album finished the tracks that automatically played next were the Pet Shop Boys, Jimmy Somerville and George Michael That’s my kind of algorithm and nostalgia #Pride

Pope Innocent III,who died in 1216, spoke of a certain kind of older man, who is "easily provoked", "will believe anything and question nothing", is "stingy and greedy" and "praises the good old days and hates the present." Reform UK's voter base has been knocking around for a very long time.

#FridayFeeling from the kindness of a busy practitioner who took time to send feedback about a free, online presentation I gave last month Exploring assessments and referral pathways for child #firesetting, a recording of the presentation is available via preventionhub@nationalfirechiefs.org.uk
An email that says,

“I watched your presentation a few weeks ago, which was excellent…I think the reason there were no questions is because you covered the topic thoroughly in the way that you always do, highlighting theory and research in an easy to understand and digestible format.

You also did a fantastic job of highlighting the lack of standardised assessment, whilst recognising that practitioners assess risk through the information that they gather via referrals and suggested how the process could be improved.

I also like that you touched on Adult firesetting and signposted to appropriate support.

It was extremely well attended, considering it was summer holidays and extremely hot. It's due to your reputation!”

Good. Now arrest those who were with him for conspiracy, and then arrest those who tried to set fire to a hotel for arson. And then proscribe the group as a terrorist organisation. Which is what you are if you use violence for political ends. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...

This, my friends, is one of your legislators. We didn't elect him, but he sits in the House of Lords as a reward for bringing us Brexit, injecting his bigotry, perversity and ignorance into our lives. Daniel Hannan in the Daily Mail today, once again grossly misrepresenting history.
Meanwhile, Caribbean countries are demanding ‘reparations’, not from the African states that enslaved their ancestors, but from the nation that poured its blood and treasure into a relentless campaign for abolition.

Incredibly, African countries – which became British colonies, in no small measure, because we were trying to extirpate slavery – also straight-facedly demand compensation.

I'm not a religious person, but if there were such a thing as the Antichrist, he would do what Trump does every day. Destroying our beautiful planet and the lives of its people for the sake of A. profit and B. a vengeful urge to destroy what other people love. So yes, demonic is the right word.
