Willoughby Fields local patch today got me Chaffinch, Grey Wagtail, Buzzard, Chiffchaff plus about 15 Swallows and 8 White Wagtails to name just a few of what I saw. Sadly no sign of the Spotted Flycatcher this time. @patchbirding.bsky.social @sussexornitholo.bsky.social #sussexbirding

My first ever visit to Blindley Heath Nature Reserve today. Bird wise a bit quiet sadly with only about 13 species seen on the reserve itself. Was nice though to see plenty of Swallows still around hunting in a nearby field along with a Red Kite. @surreybirdnews.bsky.social #surreywildlife

Today got 29 bird species at my local patch. Highlight was being welcomed into the reserve by a couple of Ring-necked Parakeets, followed by having a flying Kingfisher almost crash into me while I was exploring a section of the river. @sussexornitholo.bsky.social @sussexwildlife.bsky.social

Very happy. Just seen a Wall Brown, Lasiommata megera, soaking up the rays on a chalk track. Ovingdean. East Sussex. I used to see them a lot when I was young; only see them rarely now. Now a section 41 species. Abundance trend: -86% (1976-2019). Distribution trend: -87% (1970-2019).
