National Meadows Day Looking across the wildflower meadow, common sorrel and buttercups create a sea of reds and yellows, while beyond, Highland cattle graze the rough meadow. These two meadow habitats are vital for a wide range of species including small mammals, butterflies and other insects.

Exciting Marsh Harrier news from Sculthorpe Moor! We have been monitoring a pair of Marsh Harriers that have been nesting in the reeds on our wetland. Both chicks were ringed and wing-tagged under licence which helps to track individuals visually without the need to recapture them.

Sculthorpe Moor Barn Owls Last week, our Rangers ringed four Barn Owl chicks in the livestock barn nest box. These youngsters are part of one of two Barn Owl pairs that have successfully bred on the reserve this year which is fantastic news for this iconic species!

Norwich Peregrine Update: The live camera is now back up and running! We have been able to fix the issue temporarily and are hopeful that it will stay streaming for the rest of the season until we are able to make more permanent fixes in the autumn.

We have been treated to some amazing Cuckoo sightings this spring! This elusive bird is often heard before it is seen, with their unmistakable “Cuck-oo!” call. Did you know that it is only the male that makes this call, the females make a "bubbling" sound.
