Humans are sentimental creatures Also, any increase in housing supply is a long long way from trickling down to folks on the street, so I think seeing a 13-story building go up is frustrating when there are only 30 micro shelters (30 "tiny homes") for unhoused people in the entire city

They bought and tore down the old site of the Corvallis Daytime Drop-in Center, which is now in a larger building across the street, to build this. Lots of hard feelings in the unhoused community about this development.

Whenever anyone isn't seeking organizational endorsements, it's a bad sign. Organizational endorsements are a language of political alignment that people can parse pretty clearly. When all you give is a list of people who've endorsed you, it makes it impossible for folks to assess where you stand.

More than half of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. Starbuck's CEO took home $31 million - 1,794 times more their median worker. Live Nation's CEO made $33 million - 976 times the median pay. The system has been rigged against the working class, but the Fair Share Tax starts to change that.

ngl feeling really accomplished with the CEI Hub policy amendments that got through council. Mad about aviation fuel but otherwise a huge accomplishment by climate and safety advocates. Final votes still to come but barring an unprecedented ratfuck (not impossible), we accomplished a lot.
