It is absolutely true that Dems need to win swing voters to win elections. The misdiagnosis is that swing voters are “moderates.” They are not. They have almost entirely incoherent politics. You don’t win them from the middle. You appeal to your base with conviction and hope swings like the vibes.

(I said 90% because some dress codes include items meant for hygiene, like hair/beard nets, or safety, like steel-toed shoes or hard hats, and those are obviously a very different thing. But they're also a tiny portion of dress codes.)

90+% of dress code are sexist, racist, and classist. "Professionalism" is a meaningless term beyond these prejudices. Some will argue, "You dress nice to show respect" but 1) "nice" is subjective and 2) feeling disrespected by someone *else* wearing certain colors, shapes, or textures is solipsism.

Special Citations and Awards
X
Julie K. Brown
A special citation is awarded to Miami Herald reporter Julie K. Brown for her groundbreaking reporting in 2017 and 2018 that exposed Jeffrey Epstein's systematic abuse of young women, the justice system that protected him, and, over time, his powerful network of associates and enablers.
Her Perversion of Justice series, published nearly a decade ago, revealed how prosecutors shielded Epstein from federal sex trafficking charges when he was first accused of abusing young women. She went on to document and give voice to the scores of victims who had been groomed and abused by him and others in his circle. Her work, and the release of the government's Epstein files, continue to reverberate around the world.
