The goal is clear: end hotel use by 2029, replace chaos with competence, and rebuild public confidence. Blaming migrants for a backlog created by a broken system is like blaming passengers for a train signal failure.

UK steelmakers regain tariff-free access to the EU from today. It is a direct result from the Prime Minister’s EU deal signed back in May. The restore quota allows up to 27k tonnes of steel to be sold into the EU year supporting 100k jobs in the UK in the steel industry and related sectors.

No doubt the BBC will be asking Farage what he thinks of the football result . Badenoch will say under the Tories it would have been won in full time. Labour fail yet again to meet a target. Corbyn is will say that he needs to have meeting before his party can form an opinion. Starmer 🍺🍺

He ignored that advice. I have written to the AG and Lord Chancellor informing them of his contempt.

Private Eye exposing again the utter idiocy of our politics. This sums up *exactly* how Farage and Reform get rocket-boosted by a media, drunk on sensationalist nonsense. Unserious and irresponsible but it’ll be up to us to prove them wrong.

TRIUMPH FOR REFORM AS IT SWEEPS INTO THIRD PLACE

by Our Political Correspondent
Hugh Kip

In the most seismic upheaval in the history of politics, Nigel Farage's Reform party continued its inevitable
march to Number 10 by spectacularly coming third in the Hamilton by-election.
After a disastrous night for Labour which saw the party only come first and win the election, it was clear that Starmer's days are numbered. If this result were replicated in a General Election, Reform would win a massive no seats, while labour would be consigned to the dustbin of history with another massive majority.
The records will show that our prediction that it would be a two horse race between the SNP and Reform became a reality - as the Scots rejected the discredited SNP and consigning them to second place. This proved, as we said, that Reform is the only option north of the border, apart from Labour.
A bruised and battered Starmer was clearly on the ropes as he addressed cheering crowds, and he must now only be days away from resigning - thus paving the way for Nigel Farage and his four MPs to sweep to power.

British Meat Processors Association: Starmer has “managed to achieve what the previous government promised us originally but didn’t deliver”. ~AA
Meat industry welcomes deal, saying Labour has achieved 'what previous government promised originally but didn't deliver'
The British Meat Processors Association has issued a statement strongly welcoming the deal with the EU. It says that, making access to the EU market easier for meat exporters, Keir Starmer has “managed to achieve what the previous government promised us originally but didn’t deliver”.

The association has also dismissed claims that the deal will mean the UK being a “rule taker” because it will aligned with the EU on sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) rules. It says:

A common misunderstanding is that an SPS agreement will mean Britain becomes a ‘rule taker’. In reality, we must comply with the rules of any of our trading partners if we want to export to them – just like America must comply with British rules if they want to send us their products. This means we have been aligned with EU rules and standards all along. The difference this new deal will make is that Britain, unlike their other third country trading partners, will benefit from true, un-fettered access to their market and massively reduced trade friction. It will boost trade and make us more competitive.

Under the existing arrangement we have had to produce a mountain of paperwork to prove we comply, costing business a fortune but with no added value. This extra cost had to be absorbed somewhere in the supply chain, either through lower margins or higher prices, driving food price inflation and rendering UK businesses less competitive.
