And evaluate the state each step. If it evaluates to something, you win. :D

Does someone know a nice entry level tutorial to hadware engineering? I want to build something with a Raspberry Pi and a few sensors and displays. Bit i don't know shit about how I don't fry all the components all the time. Is there something out there?

As a software engineer I see the exact same thing. Nobody wants to learn anymore. And this behaviour peaks in ViBeCoDiNg. Where they actually surrender all engineering principles and just don't give a fuck anymore. So It think it's not only in academia, it's a global phenomenon. (spoiler: i hate it)

What is this delulu (like the cool kids say) first part of the second part? A lot of assumptions for burning hundreds of billions based in vibes

Which is, to put it scientifically, fucking smol for a planet. Now I have to delve through this rabbit hole and see if the overworld makes any sense or if the devs at Blizzard just make stuff up :o :o :o

I'm currently researching what would happen if something like the sword of sargeras from WoW would be put into a planet. I can already say that the thing that happened in the game is not what would really happen. But what I also can say, Azeroth has a radius of about 24 kilometers max.

Pre COVID I bought an upgrade kit for my PC with 64 GB RAM and a midrange ryzen CPU. I can now sell one of those RAM sticks for the price I paid for the whole kit back then.

What I want to say, It's easy to not use AI, it's hard to avoid it.

I actually stopped streaming because people were "why are you doing this, AI can do this much faster" all the time, and I was tired of explaining that it's fun to do.

especially streaming programming got so much worse because of AI and you can't even avoid it. It feels like every single post in my hobby sphere is about AI. A few years ago there were like infinite different topics, now everything is about AI. It's really draining to filter out the slop.

Currently, the most annoying thing about AI (and the one the radicalized me the most) is that it's not avoidable in my hobbies anymore. My hobbies are Gaming, Magic the Gathering, Programming (and streaming this on Twitch), Pen and Paper games and every single one of those hobbies

Recently I wanted to deep dive into category theory because I want to deeply understand functional programming, not just 'use' it. I just couldnt find a good starting point. Maybe this helps me. Thanks!

What I don't understand is, when I join an online meeting with headphones on, nobody around me can hear what I am hearing. But when I speak, they can still here me. Weird. I'd expect when I have headphones on what I say only goes to the meeting...

Okay, Kenney just ignoring modern economics by not releasing inferior stuff sooner. What will the shareholders think?!?!

I love how those CEOs can just say whatever things they want and nobody (journalists) asks any questions. It feels like 50-75% of all those marketing stunts could be fact checked in seconds

Weißstreifen @weissstreifen.eu · 06/09/2026
That's the worst part. LLMs and useful ML getting both mixed under the umbrella term AI. If someone says 'BuT aI iS hElPiNg To CuRe CaNcEr' to defend the current hype cycle they flat out lie, and I think this is on purpose because a layman can't fact check this easily.

Also what I am thinking. What If the biggest of the 1% just say 'we pay less now or we are gone'. But we all know, the big tech companies are known for being the good samaritans of the world, so this will never happen.

If they are so super mega special awesome they should not require any skill at all. The only thing I currently see myself doing is using those things as search engines because, sadly, real search engines enshittified themselves hard enough so they are worse than a chatbot in finding URLs. :(

I'd rather have soild stuff at a slow pace. Look at all the old software that's still holding up while you can't use most modern web ecosystem stuff 6 months after release anymore.

Trillions lost on something that can do a few things, sometimes correctly. Wtf are we even taking about? If this would be a hobby project I'd be impressed, but this shit is economy disrupting. This should better solve huge problems not Steves email sorting or meeting planning. Are we stupid?

I think there is a blessing in not knowing how to do stuff in video editing software. Im just getting started with editing a few clips of my guild doing random stuff in WoW raids (i know, nerd lol) and it's hilarious how bad I am at editing, so the clips are super bad aswell. Makes them even better.

I don't think 'i created more economical value in the last 6 month, then in my previous 30 years' is something to be proud of. How bad is he at his job? (Spoiler: whatever he said is just a lie so it doesnt matter)

Web Dev is especially crazy somehow. It looks like the MoVe FaSt, BrEaK oFtEn cringe mindset is particularly easy infected by brainrot. Other software engineering parts like system programming is basically unaffected by the hype bubble

Only 0.1% of people drive super sports cars, maybe they should invest there. Seems like we are only at the beginning of super sports car adoption.

dating apps train people to dehumanise others. desensitised to saying no to countless faces. they aren’t real. everyone is a set of stats to be judged. i wonder how much this fuels other real world interactions. this is the problem in our current modern world. LLMs just make it all worse.

At least the German government tells their citizens that AC usage during that heat wave is a an accelerator for climate change, which is technically true, but I think I need a lot of non-ACs to offset this bad boi

It's so easy not to use them. I don't know why people get addicted to them and then either go complete insane AI booster brain rot or try to hide their usage as much as possible.
