Complaints have limited legal value outside their case, but the one suing for the murder of Renee Good is an important cultural document. It tracks a grand opera of horror and hate that culminated in the death of a woman at the hands of her government. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

COMPLAINT
INTRODUCTION
1.
On the morning of January 7, 2026, Renee Nicole Macklin Good (“Renee”),
a thirty-seven-year-old United States citizen, poet, and mother of three, dropped her six
year-old son off at school, drove home through her own south Minneapolis neighborhood,
and stopped her car in the middle of Portland Avenue. Federal immigration agents were
operating there. They were masked, as was their practice throughout Operation Metro
Surge. Renee honked her horn to warn her neighbors. Her partner got out and began to
film. Renee stayed behind the wheel. She was not the target of any investigation, and she
was breaking no law that any federal officer had authority to enforce. Numerous vehicles,

It's inconceivable to me how someone who lost in a free & fair election can incite an angry mob to attack his own government, (the very definition of treason) & be allowed to run for any office ever again.

I didn't even think of the ins aspect while i was responding until I started thinking about if I could do what my mom did. I would have to if I wanted treatment. 😞

My mom only took chemo days off since she had to drive 100 miles for it. For her, continuing to work was her saying this wasn't defeating her, she's defeating cancer. But she also had ins thru job to pay for treatments, otherwise she couldn't have done it, which is the sad part of this reality.

I stopped drinking, but when I did, I ♥️ Tracks Bar & Grill. It's no longer there, but the bartenders were funny, the regulars were nice. We actually had a 2nd wedding reception there and the owner bought everyone a round. We had the reception with all the regulars and our wedding guests combined

I've bee thinking about this for over a decade

There’s a grim parallel between America’s food diet and its media diet. We increasingly choose what is cheap, fast, addictive, and engineered to keep us consuming over what is nourishing. Fast food replaced meals; outrage replaced information. Both deliver an immediate dopamine hit while leaving us less healthy, less satisfied, and wanting more. And after decades of consuming junk, we shouldn’t be entirely surprised by the condition of the body—or the body politic.

The people forgetting/rewriting history were also not living in the same reality when it was happening. I am reading some of the bizarre things people are saying Fauci did and I am remembering how angry I got in 2020 when they were making up the same narrative.

Agreed. 10 years ago, I asked for a safer Marshall Ave design than what they were doing: curbside bike lanes, floating parking, daylighted intersections with pedestrian islands vs continuous center median. Advocates insisted squeezing cars and bikes together was better for traffic calming. 🤦‍♀️

I never understood why this design. I asked why the bike lane wasn’t curbside with a floating parking lane, parking removed near intersections, and the lane shifting closer to traffic for visibility. It could have addressed both safety and parking. The answer I got was basically shoulder shrugs.

Monica @weeklyscene.bsky.social · 07/07/2026

It's why I hate biking on Marshall Ave with my kid. I'm afraid that will happen because everything is so narrow there. I wish there was more of a buffer. But that street is so narrow, it's hard to have a buffer.

President of MIT not mincing words today in @statnews.com www.statnews.com/2026/05/27/s...

So let me say it as clearly as I can: Without basic scientific research, supported by the kind of farsighted public investment that allows large-scale, undirected, curiosity-driven inquiry, the scientific pipeline will run dry.
In daily life, people may not feel the effects right away, or even in 10 years. But we will feel it. And when someone we love needs therapies that could have emerged but didn't or when other countries now
investing in science can launch new science-based industries or run their societies on vast resources of fusion energy or reap the benefits of quantum computing power or advanced medical breakthroughs, America will wish it sustained its leadership in scientific research here and now.
Sally Kornbluth is the president of MIT.
