How to do quality law-making. Certainly not the sneaky way the Coalition Govt went about the pay-equity business. My #cartoon today #NZpol #PayEquity
Cartoon. Title: “How To Do Quality Law-Making” Image has three pictures. The first one is titled Strategy Meeting. Brooke van Velden is saying to PM Christopher Luxon “You act casual, like nothing’s happening, then VOOM!” The central picture is titled, “The Plan of Action” and shows a group of women holding placards, reading “Pay equity” and “Fair pay” BVV and CL are whizzing around them, going “VOOM!” and the women are saying, “What the…” “What was that?” “We were robbed!” The last image is titled, “The Outcome” and BVV and CL are walking away with armloads of money, and Luxon is saying, “Didn’t even see us coming! Brooke, you’re brilliant!”

Disinformation spreads so easily online because of the architecture of social media platforms & lack of accountability for info that gains virality. Mainstream media need to take the time to check sources & ultimately make sure they're not feeding into the same often racist, misogynist framing
