DuckDuckGo has introduced a new feature allowing users to filter out AI-generated images from search results, addressing growing concerns over synthetic content overwhelming authentic visuals online.
The filter can be activated through a dropdown in the Images tab, search settings, or by using a dedicated AI-free domain: noai.duckduckgo.com. The system relies on curated blocklists, including uBlockOrigin’s Huge AI Blocklist, to detect and suppress AI-generated imagery.
While not perfect, it significantly reduces synthetic content visibility. This move sets DuckDuckGo apart from competitors like Google and Bing by giving users direct control over their exposure to AI-generated material.

My senior Engish teacher was pretty cool. In her class, we listened to Iron Maiden (Rime of the Ancient Mariner) and Tom Lehrer (various songs, but I particularly remember National Brotherhood Week). It was my first exposure to Lehrer, but not my last. 🥀

Just realized I never posted the follow-up to the Jacket Project, from May 9th. I finished it in time for my 55th! It's done!

Plum twill jacket on a dress form in front of a curtained window. The jacket has been heavily altered and modified: the sleeves have been removed and replaced with knitted silk ribbon sleeves, the waistband has been removed and replaced with a crinkle polyester taffeta peplum, and godets have been added to give the jacket an A-line silhouette. Floral appliqués in various cotton prints have been stitched on with sashiko stitching, and bits of lace adorn the collar, front closure, pocket flaps, and elsewhere. On the bottom right of the photo, there is an embroidered patch of a wolf in purple and pale lavender. Pinned to the front are a variety of antique and vintage brooches and art pins.
