really kinda sucks that, across the globe, we don’t have majorities of voters who think far right authoritarianism is bad If I had to sum it up it seems like 40% of voters are anti authoritarian 40% of voters are pro authoritarian 20% of voters just want cheap burgers

This is corruption of the highest order. Susan Collins delivered millions in taxpayer dollars for a corrupt donor bankrolling her campaign, and then Donald Trump helped her cover it up. No wonder she voted with him 96% of the time and has rubberstamped his agenda to hurt Maine.

Wiley Nickel (D-NC) makes such a valid point here about voting all the way down ballot and not leaving any race without a vote. In 2020 Cherie Beasley lost her election for NC Supreme Court by 401 votes. Let’s get a #BlueWaveIn40Days by voting for every Democrat on the ballot.

Jon Husted has now voted 14 times to continue the Iran war. That’s 14 votes causing record high gas and grocery prices, and Ohioans are paying the price.

Cancelling out a $25 donation I made to Shelly Headen earlier this year. I wanted the seat to flip blue, but I cannot endorse in any way rhetoric that wishes physical harm on swaths of political opponents. A majority means nothing without morality.

Acting by himself (as Circuit Justice for the Eighth Circuit), Justice Kavanaugh has *denied* Missouri's (fairly ridiculous) emergency application asking #SCOTUS to put back into effect its 2026 gerrymander. The Missouri Supreme Court's ruling that reverted back to the 2022 map will stand.

I really do think both Sherrod and Talarico could win. Brown will need Acton to perform well against Vivek, but his populism meets the moment. Paxton is one of the worst candidates imaginable and Talarico has money and enthusiasm. I just want people to remember the electorates of these states.

The irony is that Maine could truly go either way, but I don’t think the final margin will be super close. Collins won by nearly double-digits in 2020 and could win comfortably again…or Maine’s blue lean, Pingree rout and fury at MAGA could push Troy to a solid victory.

How I see the senate map about 2 months out. El-Sayed polling well and people are starting to realize Rogers is bleh. Susan Collins is Houdini, but I’d rather be Jackson. Peltola beat Sullivan in the primary which bodes well. Ohio and Texas are big, red states despite strong Democratic candidates.

Defense huge as UNC defeats TCU in Dublin
After a preseason with plenty of negative talk outside of the program, UNC may be the early talk of college football after an impressive opener. This looked like a totally different team than last season. The Tar Heels capitalized on TCU mistakes. With the defense looking stronger in the second half, they earned a 15–10 victory Saturday.

Gun to my head, here are my predictions for the other “toss-up” districts. #FL14: R+1 #NC01: D+2 #NC11: R+3 #PA08: D+0.1 (super close) #PA10: D+2 #OH07: D+4 (scandals are hard to measure tho) #MI07: R+1 #MI10: D+0.5 #WI03: D+2 #IA03: D+1

Seat 218: #NY17, Cait Conley unseats Mike Lawler. This district (narrowly) went for Kamala Harris, but Lawler historically overperforms in a state favorable to moderate-coded Republicans. Still, Hochul has regained popularity she didn’t have in 2022/24 and Conley has a tailor-made biography.

Wade Wilson @wadebwilson.bsky.social · 24/08/2026
Seat 217: #IA01, Christina Bohannan unseats Mariannette Miller-Meeks. Miller-Meeks has won two squeakers here, and a strong Dem Governor candidate and a competitive Senate race do not help the GOP in a state where agricultural tariffs, fuel & fertilizer costs and Medicaid cuts will be top of mind.
100
Wade Wilson @wadebwilson.bsky.social · 24/08/2026
Seat 216: #FL25, Jared Moskowitz beats Scott Singer. Moskowitz fended off a left-wing challenger while the republicans had a split field in the primary. Florida is weird, especially this cycle, but he should hold on. It will be interesting to see how the David Jolly/Angie Nixon duo help or hurt.

Wade Wilson @wadebwilson.bsky.social · 24/08/2026
Seat 215: #CA22, Randy Villegas unseats David Valadao. Valadao is a strong candidate and may retain swing voters who think Villegas is too progressive or inexperienced. But Villegas has the base, a good story to tell and a Dem midterm environment to flip a district that’s usually blue statewide.

Wade Wilson @wadebwilson.bsky.social · 24/08/2026
Seat 214: #PA07, Bob Brooks unseats Ryan Mackenzie. Mackenzie only won by 1%, and unless he has local appeal I’m unaware of he will have a hard time fending off Brooks, who seems like all the positives of Fetterman 2022 with none of the baggage, especially with Josh Shapiro on top of the ticket.

Wade Wilson @wadebwilson.bsky.social · 24/08/2026
Seat 212: #OH09, Marcy Kaptur beats Derek Merrin. Unless voters suddenly decide Kaptur is too old, she should repeat against the opponent she beat in 2024. Seat 213: #NJ07, Rebecca Bennett unseats Tom Kean. Kean’s medical absence may not end up hurting him, but NJ looks primed to swing way left.

Wade Wilson @wadebwilson.bsky.social · 24/08/2026
Seat 210: #VA02, Elaine Luria unseats Jen Kiggans. Luria represented this district for two terms and can easily tie Kiggans to the unpopular Trump. Seat 211: #TX34, Vicente Gonzalez beats Eric Flores. South Texas Dem congressman are historic over-performers, and this is a super elastic region.

We start with 208 seats rated Leans/Likely/Solid D. I’d be most nervous about #AZ01, #AZ-06 and #WA03 if I’m the DCCC. Seat 209: #CO08, Manny Rutinel unseats Gabe Evans. Evans barely won in a strong R year, a large Latino population is expected to swing back to Dems & Rutinel is a strong candidate.

Abdul El-Sayed and Troy Jackson need to hit the #CanadianTariffs issue hard. Now, and until the election, even if we get a resolution. Completely idiotic move by this Admin. Most Americans like Canada. And the country is vital to the northern economy, as Michigan and Maine know well. #BlueWave
